System for monitoring the vital signs of people, particularly children and older adults, and method for monitoring and processing these parameters

Abstract

The subject of the application is a system for monitoring the vital signs of individuals, particularly children and seniors, shown in the drawing, and a method for implementing this monitoring. The system consists of a wireless foot module in the form of an elastic band worn on the knee joint, equipped with a temperature sensor adjacent to the popliteal fossa and an optional heart rate sensor. The system, in its advanced version, includes an additional chest module with an accelerometer and microphone. Measurement data is transmitted via radio to a receiving unit, which is either a mobile device or a dedicated base station. The core of the operation is an algorithm that analyzes the dynamics of temperature changes by determining its time derivative. The system enables early fever detection, heart rate monitoring, and detection of body position, falls, and acoustic events.
