Device and method for dropping vaccine from an aircraft, especially for foxes

Abstract

The subject of the application is a device for dropping vaccine from an aircraft, especially intended for foxes, comprising an aircraft (1) with a control module (2), a navigation system (3) and a wild animal detection system (4), and the device is equipped with a vaccine tank (5) with an outlet opening in its bottom, under which a vaccine feeder (6) is located. It is characterized in that the bottom of the vaccine tank (5) narrows towards the outlet opening, and the vaccine feeder (6) is a dispensing-vane feeder consisting of vanes (7) attached transversely to a motor shaft (8), preferably a stepper motor, connected to a control module (2). A cable winch (9) with a cable is installed on the aircraft (1), at the end of which there is an odor sensor (10) connected to the control module (2).A method of dropping a vaccine from an aircraft, particularly one intended for foxes, in which a flight route of the aircraft (1) is determined to ensure precise distribution of the vaccine throughout the vaccination area, and the aircraft (1) flies along this route. The method consists in lowering an odor sensor (10) from the aircraft (1) to the ground surface during the flight at locations recorded in the navigation system (3) using a winch (9) to collect odor data, and if an odor corresponding to a predefined odor pattern of wild animals to be vaccinated is detected, the control module (2) activates the vaccine dispenser (6).
