Abstract

The subject of the application is a tensioning device for tensioning elongated metal elements, a weaving machine for producing reinforced metal meshes comprising the tensioning device, and a method for producing reinforced metal mesh. The tensioning device is configured to induce tension in elongated metal elements (20) that are fed to the weaving machine for producing metal meshes for geotechnical protection. The tensioning device (200) comprises a tensioning assembly (228) having a group of drums (230) around which one or more coils of elongated metal elements (20) to be tensioned are wound.Tensioning elements are provided which hold the coils in contact with the drums in such a way as to regulate the friction between the elongated metal elements and the drums themselves so as to produce a force which counteracts the pulling action which is exerted by the weaving machine and which tends to unwind the elongated metal elements from the drums of the tensioning device.
