Abstract

The subject of the application is a dietary supplement for pets in the form of a fat-protein emulsion, containing fish raw material containing protein and fat, fish oil and water, characterized in that the fat phase constitutes the continuous phase of the emulsion, the emulsion is stabilized only by natural proteins and phospholipids of the fish raw material without the addition of synthetic emulsifiers, the fat content is 40% - 55% by weight, the protein content is 7% - 12% by weight, the water content is 20% - 45% by weight, and the total fat content includes both fat derived from the added fish oil and fat naturally occurring in the fish raw material, and: the average particle size is 1 - 50 µm, the viscosity is 5,000 - 50,000 mPa•s, and the emulsion after sterilization at a temperature of 110°C - 125°C does not show any stratification for a period of at least 6 months.The subject of the application is also a method for producing a dietary supplement for pets in the form of a fat-protein emulsion, characterized in that it comprises preparing a mixture containing raw fish material, fish oil and water, pre-mixing the ingredients, high-pressure homogenization carried out at a pressure in the range of 50 - 200 bar and obtaining an emulsion with a particle size of 1 - 50 µm.
