INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY MONITORING DEVICE

Abstract

A device for monitoring indoor environmental quality (1) is described. The device (1) comprises, in addition to at least one environmental data detection module (2) configured to generate environmental data, at least one control module (3), including a motion sensor (4), such as a passive infrared sensor. The control module (3) of the device (1) is configured to generate control data, based at least on the data collected by at least one motion sensor (4), and to activate an environmental data detection module (2) to generate environmental data, based on the number of individuals or persons in at least one confined space. This configuration optimizes the activation of an environmental data detection module (2) based on space occupancy, reducing energy consumption and costs, and minimizing device maintenance.
