Abstract
This patent relates to a process for the continuous or discontinuous reuse of lead-acid battery slag in a smelting furnace, such as a blast furnace, cupola furnace, or similar, maintaining strict control of temperature and purity of the reused substrates with the recovery of iron and lead from lead-acid battery slag. It is applicable in the metallurgy and steelmaking sector, specifically in the metalworking industry, for the recovery of iron, lead, and other metals through reverse recycling, including landfill reclamation, allowing for a more sustainable use of this raw material. This process offers the advantages of protecting water resources and soil from leaching and reducing the costs associated with supplying iron and lead for battery recycling.
