Abstract

The invention refers to a biotechnological process for obtaining cotswallow callus from whole seedlings of Cotinus coggygria Scop., resulting from aseptic seed germination, with applicability in the pharmaceutical industry. The process, according to the invention, comprises the steps: aseptic germination of seeds with the production of seedlings, inoculation of whole seedlings and the production of primary callus, the production and proliferation of secondary callus, the selection of highly proliferative cell lines producing secondary metabolites of interest, the stabilization of the selected cell lines, the production of the final extract which has the following biochemical characteristics: flavonoid concentration: 211.337+ / -18.56 mg rutin equivalent / g su, polyphenol concentration: 91.87+ / -4.88 mg gallic acid equivalent / g su, anthocyanin concentration: 2.24+ / -1.09 mg catechin-3-glucoside equivalent / g su and oxidant activity: 784.72+ / -130.25 mM Trolox equivalent / g su
