Abstract

The invention relates to a rear compartment of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the compartment is delimited by two longerons (2a and 2b), a rear right one and a rear left one, respectively, two cross-beams (3 and 4), a central one and a rear one, and the lower side of a rear floor (5a) and it comprises a seat reinforcing plate (10) arranged in opposition with the upper side of the rear floor (5a), the reinforcing plate (10) and the rear floor (5a) being designed so as to form a hollow body (C1, C2) which extends either side of a motor vehicle median plane, a reinforcing cross-beam (6, 6a, 6b) of the seat safety belt hook, which extends from the rear right longeron (2a) to the rear left longeron (2b), as well as at least one tank reinforcing plate (7) which connects the rear floor (5a), the rear cross-beam (4) and the reinforcing cross-beam (6, 6a, 6b) of the seat safety belt hook, and is placed under the hollow body (C1, C2) made of the seat reinforcing plate(10) and the rear floor (5a).
