Abstract
<em>The invention relates to an advanced H2-Ready non-anodic service connection for natural gas distribution networks and to a method for assembling the same. According to the invention, the service connection is meant for natural gas distribution networks and it is designed especially for integrating hydrogen (H2) as sustainable energy vector in the existing infrastructure, the technical problem being solved by preventing fluid permeation, especially that of hydrogen molecules, caused by incomplete crimps, vibrations, deformations or thermal dilatations at the crimping zone and the transition side between the underground < / em><em>HDPE< / em><em> pipe and the underground stainless steel pipe, while providing a secure, accurate and controlled assembly of the gas valves, without field improvisations, the essence of the invention consisting in integrating a hexagonal profile, made by chip removal, on the outer surface of the crimping bushing, with standard valve sizes, and of a radial channel dedicated to an O-ring fitting, H2-compatible elastomer such as EPDM, placed exactly in the HDPE-stainless steel transition zone, and the solution provides redundant tightness, a safe and fast assembly, it being applicable in the existing natural gas networks adapted to the energy transition to hydrogen, up to 20% H2, according to EU 2030 objectives. < / em>
