Claims
1. A method for recovery after surgery in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of methyl 3-((methylsulfonyl)amino)-2-(((4-phenylcyclohexyl)oxy)methyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate or a salt thereof.
2. A method for facilitating recovery or shortening the time to recovery from anesthesia in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of methyl 3-((methylsulfonyl)amino)-2-(((4-phenylcyclohexyl)oxy)methyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate or a salt thereof.
3. A method for preventing or treating postoperative respiratory distress / depression, or opioid-induced respiratory distress / depression, in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of methyl 3-((methylsulfonyl)amino)-2-(((4-phenylcyclohexyl)oxy)methyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate or a salt thereof.
4. A method for reducing the adverse effect of opioids in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of methyl 3-((methylsulfonyl)amino)-2-(((4-phenylcyclohexyl)oxy)methyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate or a salt thereof.
5. A method for preventing or treating postoperative sedation or opioid-induced sedation in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of methyl 3-((methylsulfonyl)amino)-2-(((4-phenylcyclohexyl)oxy)methyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate or a salt thereof.
6. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the administration is other than oral administration.
7. The method of claim 6, wherein the administration other than oral is intravenous, subcutaneous, transdermal, or transmucosal administration.
