Claims
1. A feed additive composition comprising or essentially consisting of a probiotic (DFM) comprising Bifidobacterium animal is subsp. lactis and / or Lactobacillus acidophilus.
2. A composition based on a feed additive according to paragraph 1, additionally containing or essentially consisting of an osmoregulator.
3. A composition based on a feed additive according to claim 1 or 2, additionally containing or essentially consisting of at least one essential oil.
4. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1 to 3, further comprising or essentially consisting of one or more enzymes selected from the group consisting of protease, xylanase, beta-glucanase, phytase and amylase.
5. A composition based on a feed additive according to claim 4, wherein the enzyme is encapsulated, or is present in the form of a granule, or is lyophilized.
6. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1 to 5, containing or essentially consisting of the B1-04 strain of Bifidobacterium animal is subsp. lactis.
7. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1 to 6, containing or essentially consisting of the NCFM strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus.
8. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of paragraphs 1-7, wherein the osmoregulator comprises betaine.
9. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1-8, wherein at least one essential oil comprises cinnamaldehyde, carvacol and / or thymol.
10. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1 to 9, further comprising or essentially consisting of at least one additional DFM.
11. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1-10, further comprising or essentially consisting of one or more of aspartic acid (aspartate), ornithine, arginine, phosphate, acetate and / or vitamin B.
12. A composition based on a feed additive according to any one of paragraphs 1-11, wherein vitamin B is one or more of vitamin B1, B6 and / or B 12 .
13. A feed additive composition according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein at least one component of the composition is formulated for delivery through a water supply.
14. Feed or premix for animals containing a composition based on a feed additive according to any of paragraphs 1-12.
15. A method for treating or preventing necrotic enteritis in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a composition based on a feed additive according to any one of claims 1-13 or an animal feed or premix according to claim 14.

17. The method according to claim 15 or 16, wherein the poultry is a broiler, a layer, or a turkey.
