Claims

1. Child-resistant stick pack containing: an insulated film sheet comprising two or more layers, wherein at least one layer comprises polyethylene terephthalate and faces the outside of the stick pack; a laser-engraved pattern on the film, comprising a plurality of notches, wherein each notch of the plurality of notches represents a region where the polyethylene terephthalate layer has been weakened or removed from the film; wherein the stick pack comprises a bottom seam, an upper seam and a back seam extending between the top seam and the bottom seam, is designed to contain at least one of the preparations comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient, a therapeutic agent or an additive, and cannot be opened by more than 20% of children under 5 years of age using only two hands.

2. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to paragraph 1, which cannot be opened by more than 15% of children under 5 years of age using only two hands.

3. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to paragraph 1, which cannot be opened by more than 10% of children under 5 years of age using only two hands.

4. A child-resistant stick-on pouch according to claim 1, wherein a plurality of notches extend horizontally across the width of the stick-on pouch and perpendicular to the direction of the back seam.

5. A child-resistant stick-on pouch according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of notches are located closer to the top seam of the stick-on pouch than to the bottom seam.

6. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to claim 1, wherein the film comprises a first layer of polyethylene.

7. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to claim 6, wherein the film comprises a layer of aluminum located on top of a layer of polyethylene.

8. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to claim 7, wherein the film comprises a second layer of polyethylene located on top of the aluminum layer.

9. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to claim 8, wherein a layer of polyethylene terephthalate covers a second layer of polyethylene.

10. A child-resistant stick pack according to claim 1, wherein the laser-engraved pattern comprises two rows of notches.

11. A child-resistant stick pack according to claim 1, wherein the laser-engraved pattern comprises three rows of notches.

12. A child-resistant stick-on package according to paragraph 1, in which the width of each notch is within the range of 0.5-0.7 mm.

13. A child-resistant stick-on package according to paragraph 1, in which the height of each notch is within the range of 0.3-0.6 mm.

14. A child-resistant stick-on seal according to claim 10, wherein the vertical distance between any two rows of notches is between 0.6 and 0.9 mm, as measured from the bottom edge of the notch of the first row to a point horizontally aligned with the top edge of the notch of the second row, when the second row is located below the first row.

15. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to item 1, in which the edge of one single sheet of film does not have notches.

16. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to claim 1, wherein the edge of one single sheet of film has notches.

17. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to claim 10, wherein the notches of the first row are not vertically aligned with the notches of the second row.

18. A child-resistant stick pack according to claim 10, wherein at least one notch of the first row is vertically aligned with at least one notch of the second row.

19. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to paragraph 6, wherein the first layer of polyethylene has a thickness of 20-40 microns.

20. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to paragraph 7, in which the aluminum layer has a thickness of 20-30 microns.

21. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to paragraph 8, wherein the second layer of polyethylene has a thickness of 5-30 microns.

22. A child-resistant stick-on bag according to paragraph 9, in which the polyethylene terephthalate layer has a thickness of 15-25 microns.

23. A child-resistant stick pack according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the preparations comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient, a therapeutic agent, or an additive comprises a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

24. The child-resistant stick pack of claim 23, wherein the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug comprises at least one of naproxen sodium, acetylsalicylic acid, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen.

25. A child-resistant stick pack according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the preparations comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient, a therapeutic agent, or an additive comprises an antihistamine.

26. The child-resistant stick pack of claim 25, wherein the antihistamine comprises at least one of loratadine, desloratadine, diphenhydramine, pseudoephedrine sulfate, or phenylephrine hydrochloride.

27. A child-resistant stick pack according to any one of claims 1 to 26, wherein at least one of the preparations comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient, a therapeutic agent, or an additive comprises at least one of omeprazole, esomeprazole magnesium, sodium bicarbonate, polyethyleneglycol 3350, caffeine, multivitamins, tea, protein powder, orlistat, doconazole, nizatidine, levonorgestrel, sildenafil citrate, or vardenafil.

28. Child-resistant stick pack containing: an insulated sheet of film comprising two or more layers, wherein at least one layer comprises polyethylene terephthalate and faces the outside of the stick pack; a pattern etched by a laser on the film, which is a plurality of notches, wherein each notch of the plurality of notches represents a section in which the polyethylene terephthalate layer is weakened or removed from the film, wherein the stick pack comprises a bottom seam, a top seam and a back seam running between the top seam and the bottom seam, and cannot be opened by more than 20% of children under 5 years of age using only two hands; and and at least one of the pre-packaged medications containing aspirin or caffeine is packaged in a child-resistant stick-on bag.
