Claims
1. A wet food formulated for provision to a pet, wherein the wet food contains an effective amount of at least one of spinach or tomato to enhance the palatability of the wet food and / or reduce the sugar content of the wet food.
2. Wet food according to item 1, which is a composition of the “slices in gravy” type.
3. The wet food of claim 2, wherein at least a portion of at least one of the spinach or tomato is spinach in gravy.
4. The wet food of claim 2, wherein at least a portion of at least one of the spinach or tomato is tomato in gravy.
5. The wet food of claim 4, wherein the gravy further comprises free cysteine in addition to the tomato in the gravy.
6. The wet food of claim 2, wherein at least a portion of at least one of the spinach or tomato is spinach and tomato, both of which are included in the slices.
7. Wet food according to item 1, which is a pate composition.
8. Wet food according to item 7, wherein the pate composition contains both spinach and tomato.
9. The wet food of claim 1, which does not contain any added sugar relative to any sugar present in at least one of spinach or tomato.
10. Wet food according to item 1, selected according to composition for provision to the cat.
11. Wet food according to item 1, additionally containing soy sauce.
12. A product comprising a container and wet food according to claim 1, wherein the wet food has been autoclaved and sealed in the container.
13. A method for providing nutrition to a domestic animal, comprising providing the domestic animal with wet food according to paragraph 1.
14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the domestic animal is a cat.
15. The method of claim 13, wherein the pet has or is at risk of renal failure and the wet food does not contain or is substantially free of added phosphate or polyphosphate salts.
