Abstract
A method for neuroimaging brain activation zones responsible for generating mismatch negativity, comprising: 1) conducting functional magnetic resonance imaging simultaneously with stimulation of brain zones, where stimulation is performed using the oddball paradigm: through headphones, the subject is presented with a sequence of auditory stimuli consisting of 22 blocks with deviant 1 and 22 blocks with deviant 2, where the block of stimuli includes 7xSt + 1xD1 and 7xSt + 1xD2, respectively, where St is a standard stimulus representing the word "tea", D1 is a deviant stimulus 1 representing the word "vat", D2 is a deviant stimulus 2 - the word "hour", where D1 and D2 follow a series of 7 standard stimuli, while the interval between stimuli is 900 ms, the interval between blocks is 15 sec, the stimulus duration is 385 ms, the sound intensity level of the stimulus presentation 80 dB;2) image pre-processing: spatial alignment of images, correction for different registration times of brain slices, segmentation of individual anatomical images into patterns of gray and white matter of the brain, co-registration of functional data with structural images, calculation of spatial normalization parameters into a standard anatomical space and application of these parameters to all functional images, and spatial smoothing using a Gaussian function with an 8 mm kernel;3) statistical analysis, which is carried out in two stages: individual and group, where during the individual analysis of local neuronal activity based on fMRI data, statistical parametric maps of the subject’s brain activity are constructed using a general linear model, and the group analysis is performed using a t-test with a significance threshold at the p=0.05 level, adjusted for multiple comparisons FWE, determining statistically significant areas of brain activation responsible for generating mismatch negativity.
