METHOD OF SMOOTHING THE EPICANTHUS IN UPPER BLEPHAROPLASTY

Abstract

A method for smoothing the epicanthus during upper blepharoplasty consists in the fact that preliminary marking of the skin is carried out, indicating the boundaries of the incision as in Fig. 1, segment AB is perpendicular to the epicanthus, which divides the segment into two equal parts, and is the medial border of the incision, AB is the upper border of the incision, which is drawn along the border of the upper eyelid and the skin of the brow area, BG is the lateral border of the incision, then excision of excess skin is carried out within the boundaries of the preoperative marking, the orbicularis oculi muscle is excised in the projection of the medial third of the transverse groove of the upper eyelid, removal with coagulation of the medial and central fat packets is performed, the edges of the wound are matched and a continuous intradermal suture is applied so that segment BG is located on the border of the upper incision between points A and B as in Fig. 2, placing the suture in the groove of the upper eyelid.
