Claims

1. A low-pressure mercury lamp comprising exciting a mixture of mercury vapor with at least one inert gas from the krypton and / or xenon group in a concentration of at least 2⋅10 by a longitudinal electric discharge 17 atoms per cubic centimeter, placed in a sealed tube made of a material transparent to the resonant radiation of the mercury atom, characterized in that the concentration of mercury atoms is not less than 3⋅10 14 atoms per cubic centimeter.

2. A low-pressure mercury lamp according to claim 1, characterized in that the source of mercury vapor is at least one section of mercury amalgam located on the inner wall of the tube.

3. A low-pressure mercury lamp according to claim 2, characterized in that a heat-generating element is placed on the outer side of the tube in the area where at least one section of the amalgam is located.

4. A low-pressure mercury lamp according to claim 3, characterized in that the heat-generating element is an electric heating element, preferably a resistor.

5. A low-pressure mercury lamp according to paragraph 4, characterized in that the resistor is included in the discharge circuit through the lamp and the current through the resistor is equal to the current of the lamp.

6. A low-pressure mercury lamp according to claim 1, characterized in that it additionally contains neon.

7. A low-pressure mercury lamp according to paragraph 6, characterized in that the neon concentration is at least 20% of the concentration of inert atoms from the krypton or xenon group.
