Claims

A method for producing a multifunctional lubricant additive by adding 2-mercaptobenzthiazole to a corresponding 1,4-quinonedibenzenesulfonimide in the presence of a catalyst in a solvent medium at room temperature, characterized in that the corresponding 1,4-quinonedibenzenesulfonimide is used in the form of a reaction mass in acetic acid obtained by oxidizing the corresponding 1,4-phenylinedibenzenesulfonamide, and acetic acid is used as a solvent.
