PROBIOTIC AND FOLIC ACID COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF THEIR APPLICATION

Claims

1. Oral multicomponent composition containing: a layer of probiotic composition, wherein the layer of probiotic composition comprises an amount of at least one species of Lactobacillus; a layer of additive composition, wherein the layer of additive composition comprises an amount of at least one food additive ingredient; and a middle barrier layer located between the probiotic composition layer and the additive composition layer, wherein the probiotic composition layer and the additive composition layer are located on opposite sides of the middle barrier layer.

2. An oral multi-component composition according to claim 1, wherein the layer of the probiotic composition contains a certain amount of Lactobacillus acidophilus and a certain amount of Lactobacillus rhamnosus.

3. The oral multi-component composition according to claim 2, wherein Lactobacillus acidophilus is Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus rhamnosus is Lactobacillus rhamnosus.

4. An oral multicomponent composition according to claim 2, wherein the ratio of the amount of Lactobacillus acidophilus to the amount of Lactobacillus rhamnosus is about 4:

5. An oral multi-component composition according to claim 1, wherein at least one ingredient of the food supplement contains a certain amount of folic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of folate.

6. An oral multi-component composition according to claim 2, wherein at least one ingredient of the food supplement contains a certain amount of folic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of folate.

7. An oral multi-component composition according to claim 4, wherein at least one ingredient of the food supplement contains a certain amount of folic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of folate.

8. An oral multicomponent composition according to claim 1, wherein the layer of the probiotic composition additionally contains a certain amount of lactoferrin.

9. An oral multicomponent composition according to claim 6, wherein the layer of the probiotic composition additionally contains a certain amount of lactoferrin.

10. An oral multicomponent composition according to claim 7, wherein the layer of the probiotic composition additionally contains a certain amount of lactoferrin.

11. A method for balancing the vaginal microbiome, including: identifying a subject with a pH level approximately greater than 4.5; administration of an oral multi-component composition, wherein the oral multi-component composition comprises: a layer of probiotic composition, wherein the layer of probiotic composition comprises an amount of at least one species of Lactobacillus; a layer of additive composition, wherein the layer of additive composition comprises an amount of at least one food additive ingredient; and a middle barrier layer located between the probiotic composition layer and the additive composition layer, wherein the probiotic composition layer and the additive composition layer are located on opposite sides of the middle barrier layer.

12. The method according to claim 11, wherein the oral multicomponent composition is administered once a month.

13. The method according to claim 12, wherein the oral multicomponent composition is administered once every 15 days.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein the layer of probiotic composition comprises a quantity of Lactobacillus acidophilus and a quantity of Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and at least one ingredient of the food supplement comprises a quantity of folic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of folate.

15. The method according to claim 11, wherein the layer of probiotic composition additionally contains a certain amount of lactoferrin.

16. A method for treating, preventing or alleviating at least one symptom selected from the group consisting of vaginal odor, vaginal discharge, vaginal itching, painful urination, and any combination thereof, comprising: identification of at least one symptom in the subject; administration of an oral multi-component composition, wherein the oral multi-component composition comprises: a layer of probiotic composition, wherein the layer of probiotic composition comprises an amount of at least one species of Lactobacillus; a layer of additive composition, wherein the layer of additive composition comprises an amount of at least one food additive ingredient; and a middle barrier layer located between the probiotic composition layer and the additive composition layer, wherein the probiotic composition layer and the additive composition layer are located on opposite sides of the middle barrier layer.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the subject has bacterial vaginosis.

18. The method of claim 16, wherein the subject does not have bacterial vaginosis.

19. The method of claim 16, wherein the layer of probiotic composition comprises a quantity of Lactobacillus acidophilus and a quantity of Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and at least one ingredient of the food supplement comprises a quantity of folic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of folate.

20. The method according to claim 16, wherein the layer of probiotic composition additionally contains a certain amount of lactoferrin.

21. A method for regulating, restoring, or balancing vaginal pH in a subject, comprising identifying a subject in need thereof; administering an oral formulation for regulating, restoring, or balancing vaginal pH in the subject.

22. The method of claim 21, wherein the vaginal pH of the subject is adjusted, restored, or balanced in the range of 3.8 to 5.0.
