Claims
A method for achieving high temperatures using multiple electric arc discharges, including the production of high-temperature plasma by creating discharges between a liquid electrolyte and solid-state electrodes, characterized in that the process is carried out using alternating current sources, the number of which must be equal to the number of solid-state electrodes, but not less than seven units, an alternating voltage is set in the range of 200-600 V in the frequency range of 40 to 75 Hz between a group of solid-state electrodes and a liquid electrode, where an electrolyte is used as a liquid electrode, which can be aqueous solutions of alkalis, such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide, as well as aqueous solutions of inorganic acids, such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid or nitric acid, and in addition to solutions of inorganic acids and alkalis, aqueous solutions of inorganic salts can be used as an electrolyte, such as sodium chloride, potassium chloride, lithium chloride, lithium nitrate, potassium nitrate, sodium nitrate, sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate or mixtures of aqueous solutions of the given inorganic salts in any ratio to each other, and a single solid-state electrolyte must be made of graphite, where structurally the graphite electrode must be a hollow cylinder divided by a water-impermeable graphite partition in such a way that between the water-impermeable graphite partition and the internal conical part of the electrode there is a gap for the circulation of coolant, which is supplied to each electrode through the first side nozzle, after which the coolant passes under the partition, takes heat from the heating space of the electrode and exits through the second side nozzle, water, aqueous solutions of salts, organic heat carriers, as well as liquid nitrogen are used as the coolant, thus, between a group of solid electrodes and a liquid electrode, voltaic arcs arise that have a common point of convergence, as a result of which, depending on the specified electrophysical parameters, such as the voltage between the liquid and solid electrodes, the frequency of the current and the total current at the point of convergence of a set of voltaic arcs, the temperature begins to rise, the value of which reaches from 5000 K to 2900000 K and theoretically can reach a value of 400000000 K.
