Claims

1. A control board assembly for an aerosol generating system comprising: the first extended control board; the second extended control board; a light assembly comprising one or more light emitting elements located on one or both of the first control board and the second control board; an electronic control device distributed over one or both of the first control board and the second control board, wherein at least a portion of the electronic control device is configured to control the operation of the light unit; a hinge element connecting the first control board to the second control board; wherein the control board assembly has an unfolded state and a folded state, wherein in the folded state one of the first and second control boards is bent around the hinge element in such a way that it lies on top of the other of the first and second control boards; wherein the first control board and the second control board are arranged in such a way that, in the folded state, the opposite inward-facing surfaces of the first control board and the second control board are spatially separated from each other; wherein said assembly additionally comprises a separating element, wherein in the folded state the separating element is located between the opposite inwardly facing surfaces of the first control board and the second control board, wherein the main part of the separating element is generally flat, wherein the separating element comprises a pair of longitudinally extending edges opposite to each other in the transverse direction, bent perpendicular to the main part, wherein on each of the longitudinally extending edges opposite to each other in the transverse direction legs are formed, located opposite parts of the surface of the second control board.

2. The control board assembly according to claim 1, wherein the light assembly is located on an outward facing surface of the first control board, wherein the outward facing surface is associated with a folded state of the control board assembly.

3. The control board assembly according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the first control board is formed from a first material composition and the second control board is formed from a second material composition, wherein the first material composition has a lower rigidity than the second material composition.

4. The control board assembly according to item 3, further comprising a stiffening element that has a stiffness exceeding the stiffness of the first material composition, wherein the first control board is applied to the supporting surface of the stiffening element.

5. A control board assembly according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the hinge element is formed from a material composition having a lower rigidity than the material composition of the second control board.

6. A control board assembly according to any one of paragraphs 1-5, in which the hinge element is formed from an elastic and / or bendable material.

7. A control board assembly according to any one of claims 1-6, wherein the hinge element is configured to provide an electrically conductive path between the first control board and the second control board.

8. The control board assembly of claim 7, wherein the electrically conductive path comprises one or more electrically conductive tracks superimposed on or embedded in the hinge member.

9. A control board assembly according to any one of claims 1-8, wherein the hinge element is an extended integral part of the first control board.

10. The control board assembly according to claim 9, wherein the extended integral portion is detachably connected to the second control board.

11. A control board assembly according to any one of claims 1-10, wherein the hinge element extends between transversely extending edges of the first control board and the second control board.

12. A control board assembly according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the first control board is configured to be electrically connected to the capacitive sensor module.

13. An aerosol generating device for generating an inhalable aerosol from an aerosol forming substrate, the aerosol generating device comprising: an elongated body extending in the longitudinal direction; display window formed in the body; a control board assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, located within the elongated housing such that light emitted by the light assembly is visible through the display window.

14. A method for assembling an aerosol generating device, comprising: providing an elongated tubular body having a side wall extending in a longitudinal direction and containing an opening for a display window; providing a control module, a light unit and a sensor module, wherein the sensor module is configured to be used upon detection of a user touch, the light unit is located on the surface of the control module, and the control module comprises an electronic control device for controlling at least one of the light unit and the sensor module; connecting the sensor module to the control module in such a way that the sensor module lies on top of the light assembly, thereby forming an intermediate assembly module; placing an intermediate assembly module adjacent to an opening formed at one end of the elongated tubular body; sliding movement of the intermediate assembly module inside the elongated tubular body along the longitudinal direction to a specified location, wherein the specified location corresponding to the light unit is located next to the opening.

15. A method for assembling an aerosol generating device, comprising: providing an elongated tubular housing having a side wall extending in the longitudinal direction and containing an opening for a display window and a control module, wherein the control module is located inside the housing and is located next to the opening, wherein a light unit is located on the surface of the control module; providing a sensor module capable of being used upon detection of a user touch; inserting the sensor module through the opening for connection to the control module in such a way that the sensor module lies on top of the light assembly; wherein the control module comprises an electronic control device for controlling at least one of the light unit and the sensor module.
