Claims

1. A security ink composition for printing, comprising a phosphate-based near infrared absorber having a particle size distribution in the nanoscale range and containing one or more transition elements selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Hf, Ta, W, Re, Os, Ir, Pt and Au; and a surfactant, wherein the near infrared absorber and the surfactant form a micellar structure.

2. A protective ink composition for printing according to claim 1, wherein the near infrared radiation absorber is Cu2PO4(OH) having a libethenite crystalline structure.

3. A protective ink composition for printing according to claim 1, wherein the nanosized near infrared radiation absorber has a particle size distribution from 10 to 1000 nm.

4. The security ink composition for printing according to claim 1, wherein the surfactant is one or more selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monopalmitate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan tristearate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan trioleate, sorbitan monolaurate, sorbitan monostearate, sorbitan tristearate, sorbitan monooleate, sorbitan trioleate, poloxamer 124, poloxamer 188, poloxamer 237, poloxamer 338, poloxamer 407, dodecylbenzenesulfonate, poly(4-vinylpyridine), sodium dodecylsulfonate, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, polyvinylpyrrolidone and octylphenol ethoxylate.

5. A protective ink composition for printing according to claim 1, wherein the nanosized near infrared absorber contains atoms or ions of transition elements that absorb IR radiation, in a concentration of 20 to 40 wt.%.

6. A protective ink composition for printing according to claim 1, wherein the content of the nanosized near infrared absorber is from 0.1 to 40 wt.% of the total weight of the ink composition.

7. A protective ink composition for printing according to claim 1, used for inkjet, offset, screen, gravure and intaglio printing.
