Claims
1. A capacitive level meter, implemented in that it contains a controller, a secondary converter, a switch and a level sensor, containing an upper measuring capacitor and a lower measuring capacitor, the measuring range of the capacitive level meter corresponds to the total height of the upper measuring capacitor and the lower measuring capacitor, characterized in that: for the purpose of measuring the dielectric constant of the measured medium and measuring the non-useful part of the capacitance of the level sensor, the lower measuring capacitor is connected in parallel to the upper measuring capacitor with the possibility of disconnection.
2. A method for measuring the level of a dielectric medium using the device according to paragraph 1, characterized in that in any sequence: the capacitance C1 of the level sensor is measured, the lower measuring capacitor is disconnected, the capacitance C2 of the level sensor is measured with the lower measuring capacitor disconnected, compare the value of C1 with the value of P1 of the level sensor capacitance, corresponding to the height of the measured medium level not less than the height of the lower measuring capacitor, compare the value of C1 with the value of P2 of the level sensor capacitance, corresponding to the height of the measured medium level not exceeding the height of the lower measuring capacitor, If the value of C1 is not less than P1, then the value of the capacitance C3 of the lower measuring capacitor is calculated as the difference between the values of C1 and C2; according to the value of C3, the value of the dielectric constant of the measured medium is calculated; according to the value of the dielectric constant of the measured medium and the value of C1, the height of the level of the measured medium is calculated, if the value of C1 does not exceed the value of P2, then according to the value of C2 and the specified value of the capacitance of the upper measuring capacitor filled with the adjacent medium, the value of C0 of the non-useful part of the sensor capacitance, caused by the properties of the feedthrough insulators and conductors, is calculated; If the value of C1 does not exceed the value of P1, then the height of the level of the measured medium is calculated according to the specified value of the dielectric constant of the measured medium.
