A capacitive level meter comprising a secondary transducer and a capacitive level sensor, including a disconnector, a magnetic float, a measuring upper capacitor, a measuring lower capacitor, characterized in that, for the purpose of measuring the value of the non-useful part of the capacitance of the capacitive level sensor, the measuring lower capacitor is connected in parallel to the measuring upper capacitor with the possibility of disconnection in accordance with the location of the magnetic float, corresponding to the location of the level of the measured medium not higher than the upper limit of the lower capacitor.
