Description

[0001] Technical field

[0002] The utility model relates to electrical engineering and can be used to ensure reliable contact between the terminals of electronic component base (ECB) products with the contact pads of a printed circuit board.

[0003] Technology Level

[0004] A connecting device is known for connecting an electronic component base product to a printed circuit board (RU 179608, published 05 / 21 / 2018), comprising a housing consisting of a base and a cover hingedly attached to the base on one side and made with the possibility of fixing with a locking element in a pressed state against the base, an adapter panel (lower insert) installed in the base, a removable panel (upper insert) intended for placing the electronic component base product (the microcircuit being tested) on it.The base is designed with the possibility of fixed attachment to the printed circuit board, plunger spring contact elements secured in the holes of the panels (inserts) with the possibility of their reciprocating movement and located with the possibility of connecting the product of the electronic component base to the printed circuit board by connecting their contacts (terminals) when pressing the cover to the base, wherein the cover contains an elastic clamping element that ensures pressing of the terminals of the microcircuit being tested to the terminals of the plunger spring contact elements.

[0005] The disadvantage of this device is the high probability of damage to the electronic component and the device contacts, due to the fact that during closing, the cover plane touches the edge of the electronic component cover outside its vertical axis of inertia, which can cause tilting or shifting of the electronic component, which can lead to the appearance of dents and scratches on the surface of the electronic component, and can also lead to breakage of the plunger spring contact elements.

[0006] A contacting device for connecting an electronic component base to a printed circuit board is known, comprising a base and a cover hinged thereto, one side of which is capable of being locked by a locking element in a pressed position against the base. The housing base is designed for fixed attachment to the printed circuit board. A contacting unit is installed in the housing base. The contacting unit comprises an upper insert designed to accommodate the microcircuit being tested, a lower insert, and plunger spring contact elements, the terminals of which are mounted in coaxial holes of the said inserts with the ability to move back and forth and are arranged to connect the microcircuit being tested to the printed circuit board by connecting their terminals when the cover is pressed against the base.In this case, the cover is equipped with an elastic clamping element that ensures that the terminals of the microcircuit being tested are pressed against the corresponding terminals of the plunger spring contact elements (RU 200248, published 14.10.2020).

[0007] The disadvantage of the device is the difficulty of adjusting the pressure to a specific height of the electronic component, due to the fact that the actual force of pressing the electronic component to the terminals of the plunger spring contact elements depends on the rigidity of the elastic pressure element.

[0008] Disclosure of Utility Model

[0009] When manufacturing electronic components, the height of the housing and the plane-parallelism of its planes may differ within one batch, while the contact device clamp is usually set to one specific height of the product housing, assuming that the plane of the electronic components that presses on the contact elements of the device and the plane on which the contact device clamp presses are parallel.

[0010] If the ECB housing height is less than the nominal height, there is a risk of unreliable contact between the printed circuit board and the ECB. If the ECB height is greater than the nominal height, attempting to press the ECB against the contact elements of the contact device may damage both the ECB itself and the contact device. If the plane of the ECB that presses on the contact elements and the plane of the ECB that is pressed by the contact device are not parallel, there is a risk of unreliable contact between the printed circuit board and the ECB, and there is a risk of damage to both the ECB itself and the contact device.

[0011] The objective of the utility model is to create a contact device, the design of which is free of technical shortcomings inherent in analogs, and which has the ability to be used with various types of electronic components.

[0012] The technical result achieved through the use of the utility model is to ensure reliable electrical contact between the printed circuit board and any type of electronic component.

[0013] The specified technical result is achieved in that the contact device contains a contact block and a cover with a pressing mechanism, wherein the contact block consists of a base with a seat for installing the tested electronic component, an insert and plunger spring contact elements with two movable coaxial plungers, wherein the contact block is designed with the possibility of fixed fastening and centering on a printed circuit board, wherein the plunger spring contact elements are installed in coaxial stepped holes made in the base and in the insert, wherein the plungers of the plunger spring contact elements are designed with the possibility of reciprocating movement along the axis of the mentioned holes and are located with the possibility of contacting simultaneously with the contacts of the electronic component and the printed circuit board, ensuring their electrical connection when closing the cover, wherein the cover is provided with a rocker with an adjustable clamp swinging on an axis, ensuring the pressing of the electronic component to the contact block, wherein the balancer is made in the form of a plate with guide and threaded holes, wherein the guide screws are installed in the guide holes, and the adjusting screws are installed in the threaded holes, wherein a clamp is attached to the balancer with the help of the guide screws, and the adjusting screws rest against the clamp.

[0030] Implementation of a utility model

[0031] The contact device (Fig. 1) comprises a base (1) to which a cover (2) is hingedly attached. A seat for installing the electronic component block (ECB) is provided in the base (1). An insert (3) is attached to the base (1) by means of a screw connection. Plunger spring contact elements (4) are installed in coaxial holes between the base (1) and the insert (3). The cover (2) comprises a hingedly attached latch (5) and a balancer (6) swinging on an axis (7). A clamp (8) is attached to the balancer (6) by means of guide screws (9), which are screwed to the clamp (8) and simultaneously pass through the guide holes in the balancer (6). Springs (10) are placed on the guide screws (9) and rest against their heads with one end, and rest against the balancer (6) with the other end, pressing the clamp (8) against it. The balancer (6) has threaded holes into which adjusting screws (11) are screwed, their ends resting against the clamp (8).If the height of the electronic component assembly is less than that set by the contact device clamp (8), the electronic component assembly must be pressed more firmly against the plunger spring contact elements (4). To do this, tighten the adjusting screws (11); in doing so, they will press against the clamp (8) and shift it away from the balancer (6). If the height of the electronic component assembly is greater than that set by the contact device clamp (8), the electronic component assembly must be pressed more weakly against the plunger spring contact elements (4). To do this, unscrew the adjusting screws (11); in this case, the springs (10) will press the clamp (8) against the ends of the adjusting screws, and it will shift toward the balancer (6).

[0032] In case of asymmetrical arrangement of plunger spring contact elements (4) or in case of large deviations from plane-parallelism of the surfaces of the electronic component, the adjusting screws (11) can be screwed in to different depths, thereby equalizing the force with which the electronic component presses on the plunger spring contact elements (3).

[0033] The quantity, type and location of plunger spring contact elements (4), the geometric dimensions of the seat in the base (1), the location of the holes in the base (1) and insert (3), the dimensions of the clamp (8) are determined by the specific type of ECB product.

[0034] The contact device components are made of high-temperature dielectric plastics (polyetherimide (PEI), polyetheretherketone (PEEK), polyethersulfone (PES), polysulfone (PS), polyphenylenesulfide (PPS), and duralumin using milling, injection molding, and 3D printing. Plunger spring contact elements (4) are made of beryllium bronze by turning and then gold-plated. The contact device is then assembled. After this, the contact device is mounted on the printed circuit board and secured to it using mounting screws that pass through the corresponding holes on the printed circuit board and the coaxial holes in the base (1). After this, the device is ready for operation.

[0035] The contact device operates as follows. When the contact device is installed on the printed circuit board, with the cover (2) (Fig. 3) folded upward, the tested electronic component (EC) is installed in the seat of the base (1) on the plunger spring contact elements (4). After installing the ECB, the cover (2) is closed, while the clamp (8) presses on the ECB, pressing it against the plunger spring contact elements (4) and ensuring an electrical connection between the printed circuit board and the tested ECB. When closing the cover (2) (Fig. 3), at the moment when the clamp (8) touches the edge of the ECB, it rotates on the axis (7) together with the balancer (6). When the angle between the cover (2) and the base (1) becomes 2…5°, the planes of the clamp (8) and the upper surface of the ECB are pressed against each other. Due to this, the pressure plane (8) evenly transfers the force to the upper surface of the electronic component.Upon further closing of the cover (2), the movement of the electronic component together with the plunger spring contact elements (4) is carried out progressively, along their axis, excluding shifts and bending of the spring contact elements (4), which may lead to unstable contact between the printed circuit board and the electronic component or their breakage. In case of absence of electrical contact between the printed circuit board and the electronic component, it is necessary to select a position of the clamp (8) by rotating the adjusting screws (11) at which the electrical contact is reliable. When turning the adjusting screw (11) clockwise, it presses harder on the clamp (8), and the side of the clamp against which the adjusting screw (11) rests presses harder on the electronic component, pressing it against the plunger spring contact elements (4).When the adjusting screw (11) is turned counterclockwise, it exerts less pressure on the clamp (8), and the side of the clamp against which the adjusting screw (11) rests exerts less pressure on the electronic component, reducing its pressing force on the spring contact elements (4).
