AI Technical Summary
The existing sealing units with alternating bushings and washers or two separate round screw seals face complex installation, repair, and maintenance processes due to the need for multiple elements to be installed sequentially, which can lead to skewing and increased operational complexity.
A sealing unit design featuring a single screw element seal mounted on a rotor with a helical groove, where the seal's turns are connected by partitions, and the groove and seal profiles are rectangular, allowing for secure fitting without backlash, and optionally secured with adhesive bonding or a locking screw.
This design simplifies installation, repair, and maintenance by ensuring the seal can be assembled in one operation without skewing, with enhanced rigidity and secure fixation, reducing operational complexity.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Technical field
[0002] The utility model relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, to sealing units of various machines, in particular, to the designs of sealing units of multi-stage centrifugal machines.
[0003] Technology Level
[0004] A sealing unit is known from the prior art, which includes a composite seal made in the form of alternating bushings and washers (see RU 97111955 A).
[0005] The technical problem inherent in the given analogue is the inconvenient and complex process of installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit.
[0006] This technical problem is caused by the fact that the seal is made in the form of alternating bushings and washers, which increases the number of operations during installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit, since several elements must be installed one after the other, and the elements may become skewed during installation.
[0007] The closest analogue is a sealing unit that includes a seal assembly made of two screw seals installed on the rotor (see SU 90560 A1).
[0008] The technical problem inherent in the given analogue is the inconvenient and complex process of installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit.
[0009] This technical problem is caused by the fact that the seal is made in the form of two separate round screw seals, while there is no groove for the seal on the rotor.
[0010] This factor increases the number of operations during installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit, since it is necessary to install several elements one after another, and the screw elements may become skewed during installation of the sealing unit.
[0011] Essence Revealed
[0012] The technical result of the claimed utility model is to increase the convenience of installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit.
[0013] The stated technical result is achieved by the following design of the sealing unit.
[0014] The sealing unit includes a seal mounted on the rotor, and the seal is made in the form of a single screw element.
[0015] The rotor has a helical groove into which a seal is installed, and the turns of the screw element are additionally connected to each other using partitions.
[0016] The screw seal is made in the form of a rectangular cross-section profile, while the rotor helical groove is also made in the form of a rectangular cross-section profile, and rectangular grooves are made in the partition.
[0017] The seal is made in the form of a single screw element, and a screw groove is made in the rotor into which the seal is installed, and at the same time, the turns of the screw element are additionally connected to each other using partitions, which increases the ease of installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit.
[0018] This effect is achieved due to the fact that the seal, made in the form of a single screw element, the turns of which are connected by partitions, eliminates the risk of their relative displacement and distortion, due to which the seal can be screwed onto the rotor, in which a groove is made, in one assembly operation, while due to the fact that the seal profile and the groove profile are made rectangular, the seal is securely fixed in the groove without backlash and gaps (as in the case of a seal of a circular cross-section).
[0019] The sealing unit is designed with six baffles, since this number of baffles provides the sealing rigidity necessary for installing the seal on the rotor.
[0020] In the preferred embodiment, the partition is additionally secured to the seal, for example, by adhesive bonding. This makes the seal more rigid, simplifying its installation and removal (for example, compared to flexible rubber seals).
[0021] In a preferred embodiment of the design, the seal is made of a softer material than the material from which the rotor is made, which further simplifies the process of its installation and removal.
[0022] Also, in a preferred embodiment of the design, the seal is additionally fixed to the rotor using a locking screw.
[0023] All the above design features of the sealing unit, together and individually, contribute to increasing the ease of installation, repair and maintenance of the sealing unit and achieving the stated technical result.
[0024] Brief description of drawings
[0025] The utility model is explained with illustrative material, where Fig. 1 shows a general three-dimensional view of the sealing unit with a 1 / 4 cutout; Fig. 2 shows a general three-dimensional view of the seal with partitions installed on it with a 1 / 4 cutout; Fig. 3 shows an end view of the seal.
[0026] The following design features of the sealing unit are indicated by the positions on the figures:
[0027] pos. 1 - seal;
[0028] pos. 1.1 - groove in the seal;
[0029] pos. 2 - rotor;
[0030] pos. 2.1 - groove made in the rotor;
[0031] pos. 3 - partition;
[0032] pos. 3.1 - groove in the partition;
[0033] pos. 4 - lock screw.
[0034] Implementation of a utility model
[0035] The claimed utility model is implemented as follows.
[0036] The sealing unit includes a seal 1 installed on a rotor 2. The seal 1 is made in the form of a single screw element.
[0037] A helical groove 2.1 is made in rotor 2, into which a seal is installed, while the turns of the helical element are additionally connected to each other using partitions 3.
[0038] The sealing unit is made with six partitions 3, since this number of them ensures the rigidity of the seal 1, eliminating the loss of stability of the turns when installing the seal 1 on the rotor 2.
[0039] Screw seal 1 is made in the form of a rectangular cross-section profile, while screw groove 2.1 of rotor 2 is also made in the form of a rectangular cross-section profile, rectangular grooves 1.1 are made in the seal for installing partitions, and in partition 3 there are corresponding grooves 3.1 of rectangular shape.
[0040] In a preferred embodiment of the design, the partition 3 is additionally fixed to the seal 1, for example, using glue.
[0041] In a preferred embodiment of the design, the seal 1 is additionally fixed on the rotor 2 using a locking screw 4.
[0042] In a preferred embodiment of the design, the seal 1 is made of a softer material compared to the material from which the rotor 2 is made.
[0043] The utility model operates as follows.
[0044] When assembling the sealing unit, the screw seal is screwed onto the rotor using a helical groove in the rotor (the groove and seal profiles are designed to match each other). During repair or disassembly, the screw seal can be easily unscrewed from the rotor.
[0045] The utility model can be used in the design, as well as in the manufacture of sealing units intended for use, for example, in the designs of centrifugal multi-stage machines.
