Abstract
Description
[0001] The utility model relates to the design of fishing tip-ups [A01K 91 / 02, A01K 89 / 00, A01K 97 / 01].
[0002] A WINTER FISHING SET [RU 225255, published 16.04.2024] is known from the prior art, comprising a base stand - a circle, a stand with a reel and a flag, on the base there is a slot for inserting the fishing line, a mount for the stand with a reel and a mount for the flag, characterized in that the reel handle has a cap that exceeds the thickness of the handle, which allows you to secure the flag of the zherlitsa, bending it under the reel handle, preventing it from being pulled out, near the reel handle there is an opening through which the fishing line is inserted and pulled out, bending around the reel handle, limiting the movement of the fishing line, allowing you to fix the fishing line.
[0003] The disadvantage of the analog is the low reliability of the bite alarm and the low protection of the equipment from external influences, due to the fact that the flag is fixed under the cap of the reel handle, which does not provide a stable hold during gusts of wind or vibrations, and the open location of the line, which goes around the reel handle and passes through the hole, does not protect it from freezing, tangling and spontaneous release during a bite, which leads to false alarms, loss of time for maintenance and a decrease in the likelihood of a successful fish catch.
[0004] The closest in technical essence is the ZHERLITSA [RU 2820298, published 03.06.2024], characterized by the fact that it includes a hollow stand with a bracket equipped with an axis on which a reel with a fishing line equipped with equipment is mounted with the possibility of rotation, and a bite alarm in the form of an elastic plate with a flag, the stand is installed on a flat base having a through hole for the passage of the fishing line, while the base is equipped with a quickly removable heat-insulating plate with a slot for the passage of the fishing line.
[0005] The main technical issue with the analog is its poor fishing performance. This is due to the flag plate not being securely attached to the stand and can shift or warp in the wind, causing false alarms and forcing the angler to waste time re-installing and checking each tip-up. Furthermore, the lack of an adjustable reel brake prevents the angler from controlling the trigger force or preventing the inertial release of the line during a sudden bite. This results in some fish getting lost due to tangles or line breaks, and the time spent untangling the line reduces the overall effectiveness of the fishing tackle. Therefore, due to the unstable operation of the alarm and the lack of control over the reel's rotation, the angler wastes time on maintenance and misses out on bites.

A base connecting sleeve 5 with a flange is mounted in the hole of the base 1 and the base insulation 2. A vertical hollow removable post 4 is mounted to the base 1 by means of the sleeve 5. Moreover, the cavity is located above the through hole 3 of the base 1 and the base insulation 2. An upper thrust washer 6 is mounted on the post 4, under which a sliding washer 7 is located. Sliding washer 7 is configured to move between the base 1 and the upper thrust washer 6. A signal flag 8 is also used in the design of the tip-up. The flag mast 9 is located along the post 4. The top of the flag 10 is made flexible and can be bent. The fastening of the flag mast 11 is located in the lower sliding washer 7. The reel 12 with the reel handle 30 is mounted to the upper part of the stand 4 through the reel holder bar 13.In the central part of the reel 12, a fastening and braking mechanism of the reel 14 is made. The design of the reel 12 includes a screw 17 passing through a mounting hole 18 of the reel seat bar 13 and a mounting hole of the reel 29. Between the reel seat bar 13 and the inner side of the reel 12, a first nut 19 and a first washer 20 are located. In the mounting hole of the reel 29, a sleeve 21 is located. On the outer side of the reel, a second washer 22, a third washer 23 (in the embodiment, a washer for a roofing screw with a rubber gasket) and a second nut 24 (in the embodiment, a wing nut) are located. Thus, nut 19, first washer 20, spool 12, sleeve 21, second washer 22, third washer 23, and third nut 24 are secured to screw 17. Sleeve 21 is made of silicone with graphite lubricant. Screw 17 is secured to spool holder bar 13 by first nut 19.The first washer 20, the spool 12, the sleeve 21, the second washer 22, and the third washer 23 are fixed on the screw rod 7 by means of the third nut 24. The spool housing 12 consists of inner and outer walls, between which a drum with a wound fishing line is formed. In one embodiment, a neodymium magnet 25 is formed on the inner wall of the spool housing 12. The spool 12 is positioned relative to the post 4 in such a way that the fishing line inlet into the cavity of the post 4 is vertical. The sliding washer 7 is provided with a recess 27, which serves as a fastening for the flag mast 11. In addition, the sliding washer 7 is provided with a supporting projection 26 along the outer diameter. The sliding washer 7 performs the function of lifting the flag 8 along the post 4 from the transport position to the working position and fixing it at the selected height.Upper thrust washer 6 has a through hole in washer 28 on its protruding portion, through which flag mast 9 passes. Additional holes for fasteners can also be made in the body of upper washer 6. Base coupling sleeve 5 is a cylindrical plastic part with a flanged protrusion at the top. Base coupling sleeve 5 secures post 4 to base 1 of the trap.
[0031] In the embodiment, the connecting sleeve of the base 5 may have an outer diameter of 22.5 to 30 mm, an inner diameter of 20 to 26 mm, and a wall thickness of 2.5 to 4 mm.
[0032] In the embodiment, the upper thrust washer 6 can be fixed at a distance of 40 to 50 mm from the upper edge of the post 4.
[0033] The embodiment uses a plastic fishing reel 12, with an outer diameter of 60 to 90 mm, a spool diameter of 30 to 50 mm, and a landing hole diameter of 6 to 9 mm.
[0034] In the embodiment, the stand 4 is a plastic tube with a diameter of 19.9 to 25.9 mm, a length of 250 to 400 mm, and a wall thickness of 2 to 4 mm.
[0035] In the embodiment, the reel seat bar 13 is a metal plate with a height of 80 to 120 mm, a width of 15 to 25 mm, a thickness of 1.5 to 2.5 mm with holes for fasteners.
[0036] In this embodiment, base 1 is a disk with a diameter of 180 to 250 mm, a central hole with a diameter of 23 to 31 mm, and a thickness of 6 to 8 mm. Base 1 can be made of fiberglass, laminated chipboard, or plastic. If base 1 is made of fiberglass or laminated chipboard, it has an additional layer of water-repellent impregnation and waterproof paint.
[0037] In the embodiment, the base insulation 2 is a layer of compensating damper tape with or without an adhesive layer.
[0038] In the embodiment, the flag mast 9 is a section of spring steel tape (GOST 2283-79), 450 to 550 mm long, 5 mm wide, 0.5 mm thick, enclosed in heat-shrinkable tube TUT 4 / 2 of various colors.
[0039] In the embodiment, the canvas of the flag 8 made of Oxford fabric is made in various colors, with a width of 80 to 100 mm and a height of 80 to 100 mm.
[0040] In this embodiment, the top of flag 10 has a different hardening grade than the rest of the mast, providing it with the necessary ductility when bending. Specifically, the top of flag 10 is made of unhardened steel.
[0041] The embodiment uses a screw 17 DIN 7985 (M4-M6); the first nut 19 DIN 439 (M4-M6); the first washer 20 DIN 9021 (M4-M6); sleeve 21 OD 6-9 mm ID 4-6 mm; the second washer 22 DIN 125 (M4-M6); the third washer 23 for roofing screw 5.3 / 6x14; the second nut 24 wing nut DIN 315 (M4-M6).
[0042] In the embodiment, a reflective insert 15 is applied to the stand.
[0043] In the embodiment, contrasting color inserts 16 are applied to the reel.
[0044] In the embodiment, reflective inserts are applied to the flag cloth.
[0045] In the embodiment, the handle of the reel 30 is made with a magnifying contrasting color overlay.
[0046] In the embodiment, contrasting color inserts 16 are applied to the reel.
[0047] The device is used as follows.
[0048] When fishing in winter, place the stated device with base 1 above the hole, the hook with bait on the end of the line, and place it in the reservoir.
[0049] When setting the trap to its working position, the lower end of post 4 is inserted into coupling sleeve 5 of base 1. The insulation of base 2 serves as additional thermal insulation for the ice hole, preventing it from freezing. Post 4 of the trap is inserted into base 1 through coupling sleeve 5, allowing for variable working length of post 4; that is, it can be raised to different heights above base 1, while the lower end of post 4 can be lowered below the water level in the ice hole.
[0050] The fishing line of the tip-up rig is passed inside the stand 4 from the reel 12 to the through hole 3 of the base 1, thus the stand 4, in addition to its supporting function, also performs the function of protecting the fishing line from freezing and tangling.
[0051] Sliding washer 7 is cocked to the upper position, lifting flag mast 9 above reel 12. The tip of flag 10 is positioned against the underside of reel 12, bent, and secured to reel drum 12, following its contour, taking into account the wound line. When a bite is detected, reel 12 rotates, and the tip of flag 10 releases from its mount, thereby triggering an alarm. This design ensures that flag 8 remains permanently attached to the tip-up (there is no need to remove it and store it separately).
[0052] The movement of the coil 12 during rotation is regulated by a magnetic brake due to the action of the magnetization force built into the inner part of the coil 12 of the neodymium magnet 25 to the coil holder bar 13, as well as by the mechanical tightening force of the second wing nut 24.
[0053] Contrasting color inserts 16 are applied to the outer and inner surfaces of the reel 12, which serve as indicators of reel rotation during a bite. Reflective insert 15 and color insert 16 applied to the stand 4 also serve to increase the visibility of the tip-up on the water, including at night.
[0054] In the embodiment, the top of the flag 10 protrudes above the edge of the canvas to a height of 40 to 50 mm.
[0055] In this embodiment, the use of a silicone sleeve 21 with graphite lubricant ensures a smooth and gradual release of the reel 12, preventing uncontrolled line reeling during a bite. A third washer 23 also serves this function, acting as a brake.
[0056] In the embodiment, the heat-shrinkable coating of the steel flag mast 9 ensures the absence of corrosion, in addition, in frost, this coating, unlike the metal one, does not stick to the fingers.
[0057] In the embodiment, the enlarged colored reel handle serves as an additional indicator of the reel rotation and provides a secure grip in the angler's fingers.
[0058] The stated technical result—increased fishing productivity when using tip-ups—is achieved through the functional interconnection of elements within a single design, aimed at minimizing time loss and increasing bites. The hollow stand and the internal passage of the line protect the rig from tangling and freezing, eliminating the angler's time spent untangling or clearing ice, allowing them to focus on fishing. The permanent attachment of the flag mast to the sliding washer eliminates the risk of losing the signal element, saving time otherwise spent searching for it in snowy conditions or replacing it with a new rig.The presence of a support protrusion on the sliding washer ensures rapid and reliable cocking of the flag (especially in low temperatures when using gloves for cocking) by creating a precise mechanical stop, eliminating the need for additional adjustments and corrections. The use of a silicone bushing in the reel mount creates a controlled, smoothly damped rotation. This, on the one hand, reduces the likelihood of false triggers (idle bites that require no intervention from the angler), and on the other hand, when a fish bites, ensures optimal line release without inertial release, which directly increases the likelihood of a successful catch. All of the above features, taken together, increase the productivity of fishing with tip-ups.
[0059] In a particular embodiment, when the tip-up is used in conditions of high humidity (precipitation) or when installed on wet snow, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the base is made with a water-repellent layer due to the fact that the absorption of moisture and the subsequent destruction of the base material is prevented, which eliminates the loss of time for replacing or repairing deformed gear during fishing.
[0060] In a particular embodiment, when the tip-up is repeatedly used in low-temperature conditions, at which ordinary hardened steel becomes brittle and breaks when bent, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the top of the flag is made of non-hardened steel, due to the fact that the plasticity and elasticity of the material is preserved, allowing the top to be repeatedly bent and fixed on the reel without destruction, which eliminates the time for replacing a broken flag and prevents missed bites due to a non-working alarm.
[0061] In a specific implementation option, when the angler needs to quickly change the reel's drag force in low-temperature conditions without removing gloves, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the locking nut is made with a wing nut, due to the fact that it is possible to quickly adjust the reel's drag force manually without the use of tools, which reduces the time for reconfiguring the tackle and allows for timely adaptation of the tip-up sensitivity to the bite conditions, increasing the number of successful bites.
[0062] In a particular embodiment, when the tip-up is used in conditions of strong wind, which can cause a false alarm from the swinging of the flag or gusts affecting the reel, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that a neodymium magnet is made on the inner wall of the reel body, due to the fact that an additional contactless magnetic interaction is created with the metal bar-reel seat, ensuring stable holding of the reel from spontaneous rotation while maintaining its sensitivity to bites, which eliminates the loss of time on checking false alarms and increases the likelihood of timely detection of a real bite.
[0063] In a specific embodiment, when the tip-up is installed on a fishing hole during periods of severe frost, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that insulation is installed under the base, due to the fact that the process of freezing of the hole and the formation of ice in the through hole of the base is slowed down, which eliminates the need for frequent cleaning of ice and prevents the freezing of the fishing line, thereby saving the angler time on servicing the tackle and ensuring the unimpeded exit of the line during a bite.
[0064] In a particular embodiment, when the zherlitsa is installed on a hole during a period of severe frost, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the high stand of the zherlitsa allows the base to be covered with snow, thereby additionally protecting the hole from freezing, and the zherlitsa from being overturned by a strong wind without the risk of freezing the fishing line, which is located in the cavity of the stand.
[0065] In a particular embodiment, when the tip-up is subjected to repeated bending and loads during transportation and operation, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the flag mast is a section of spring steel tape, due to the fact that high elasticity and resistance to fatigue deformations are ensured, allowing the mast to maintain its original shape and performance characteristics after multiple activations, which eliminates the need for frequent replacement of the signal element and guarantees reliable cocking of the flag with each bite.
[0066] In a particular embodiment, when the tip-up is used in conditions of low temperatures and high humidity, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the flag mast is enclosed in a heat-shrinkable tube, due to the fact that freezing of the metal surface of the mast is prevented and the freezing of the angler's fingers to the flag when it is raised with bare hands is eliminated, which saves time on setting up the gear and eliminates the risk of skin injury from contact with cold metal.
[0067] In a particular embodiment, when the tip-up is used in conditions of high humidity or during prolonged exposure to snow, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that the base is made of plastic, due to the fact that the material is completely resistant to water and is not subject to swelling or delamination, which eliminates deformation of the base and the need for its replacement during fishing, thereby saving the angler's time and ensuring a stable vertical position of the stand for the correct operation of the bite alarm.
[0068] In a particular embodiment, when fishing is carried out in conditions of poor visibility (at dusk, at night, or during snowfall), the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that reflective inserts are applied to the stand and flag, due to the fact that quick visual identification of the location of the tip-up is ensured when using a flashlight or natural light, which eliminates the loss of time searching for gear and allows the angler to quickly respond to a bite, promptly removing the fish.
[0069] In a particular embodiment, when fishing is carried out in severe frost, the stated technical result can be achieved due to the fact that, due to the increasing pad on the reel handle, the angler can wind the line without removing gloves or mittens, which eliminates the loss of time and the risk of negative impact of the cold on human health.
[0070] Example of achieving the stated technical result
[0071] To confirm the technical result, a series of experiments were conducted, during which fishermen set up 10 tip-ups on the ice in wind and frost from -15°C to -5°C.
[0072] In a classic tip-up with an open line and a removable flag, the following occurred over three hours of fishing: the wind tangled the open line on an average of 5 tip-ups, untangling each one took an average of 2 minutes (an average of 10 minutes lost); when re-setting the tip-ups, an average of one removable flag was lost in the snow, and searching for it took an average of 3 minutes; when raising the flags, additional height adjustments were required due to the lack of a clear stop, adding an average of 2 minutes to the total time. Furthermore, an average of 16 minutes was spent clearing the ice holes and the line. In total, an average of 31 minutes of net time was lost on maintenance rather than fishing. In the stated tip-up, the hollow stand completely eliminates tangling of the line, the permanent fastening of the flag to the sliding washer prevents its loss, and the supporting protrusion on the washer ensures instant fixation without adjustment. The design, thanks to the insulated base and the ability to pass the line from the reel through the stand cavity, eliminates the need for periodic cleaning of the ice hole and line. Furthermore, the design allows for fishing even when the ice hole is covered with snow. During a bite, the silicone sleeve ensures a smooth, controlled reel movement, eliminating inertial line release. This allows for 2-3 more fish out of 10 bites than with a traditional design, where some bites end in failure due to tangles or line breakage. Thus, by saving time on maintenance and increasing the percentage of successful bites, fishing productivity increases by an average of 25-40%.
[0073] In addition, during the operating experience, additional advantages of the declared technical solution were revealed, namely: a significant increase in efficiency and a significant increase in the comfort of fishing.
[0074] The declared device is a single unit, manufactured at the manufacturer's plant through assembly operations, all functional elements are connected to each other mechanically.
