AI Technical Summary
Existing pneumatic vehicle suspensions face reliability and durability issues due to weakened longitudinal arms from detachable connections and numerous components that are prone to failure under constant vibrations and dynamic loads.
The suspension unit employs a press connection between the coupler and longitudinal arms, eliminating detachable connections and using a press fit tie rod, along with secure mounting pads for air springs, to enhance structural integrity.
This design significantly increases the reliability and durability of the suspension unit by stabilizing the connection under dynamic conditions, reducing the need for multiple components and ensuring a tight fit.

Abstract
Description
[0001] The utility model relates to the field of transport engineering, in particular to pneumatic suspensions of vehicles.
[0002] A pneumatic suspension is known that contains elastic elements located on a platform and equipped with elements for fastening to the sprung part of a vehicle and a fitting, shock absorbers and longitudinal arms with hinges, wherein the longitudinal arms are connected by a coupler, the platforms for fastening the elastic element and the shock absorbers are located on the longitudinal arms with hinges (see patent RU 94190, IPC B60G 11 / 26, published 05 / 20 / 2010).
[0003] The known technical solution does not have sufficient reliability due to the decrease in the strength of the longitudinal arms due to the attachment of the elastic element mounting pads to the longitudinal arms, which weakens the air suspension structure.
[0004] The closest approximation to a utility model based on the combination of its essential features is a vehicle suspension unit comprising longitudinally extending beams (trailing arms) connected to the vehicle frame at one end and extending parallel to the frame side members. The other end of the beam is connected to a crossmember (tie rod) extending transversely to the vehicle's centerline. The crossmember is hollow and square, and the other end of the beam has a square opening. The ends of the crossmember are designed with inwardly tapered surfaces, while the inner walls of the square opening of the beams have conical surfaces. The conical surfaces of the crossmember and the walls of the beam opening form an angle of 6° and are intended to ensure mating of the corresponding surfaces and create frictional contact during vehicle movement.A tight clamping of the connection of the beams with the crossmember is ensured by means of a plug installed in the cavity of the crossmember, a fixing plate and a bolt passing through their central holes. The air springs are located on the crossmember by mounting them on the mounting pad of the air spring. The mounting pads of the air spring are mounted on the crossmember in a detachable manner (see patent US 2009212522, IPC B60G 1 / 04, B60G 7 / 02, B60G 9 / 02, B60G 11 / 28, published 08 / 27 / 2009).
[0005] The known technical solution has insufficient reliability and manufacturability, due to the detachable connection of the crossbar with the beams, due to the presence of a large number of elements for connecting the crossbar with the beams, which weaken the design of the longitudinal arms due to constant vibrations and dynamic loads and the need for precise installation in the cavity of the crossbar plug.
[0006] The technical problem that the utility model is aimed at solving is increasing the reliability and durability of the suspension unit.
[0007] The technical result consists in increasing the reliability and durability of the suspension unit and is achieved due to the fact that in the suspension unit, which contains longitudinal levers connected by a coupler and platforms for fastening air springs, installed on the coupler by a detachable connection, the coupler is connected to the longitudinal levers by a press connection.
[0008] A new feature is the connection of the coupler to the longitudinal arms using a press connection.
[0009] Connecting the coupler to the longitudinal arms using a press connection, in combination with the features of the restrictive part of the formula, has made it possible to increase the reliability of the connection of the coupler to the longitudinal arms by eliminating the detachable connection of the coupler to the longitudinal arms, which requires a large number of elements for connection, which weaken the structure of the longitudinal arms due to constant vibrations and dynamic loads, thereby increasing the durability of the suspension unit.
[0010] The suspension unit is illustrated by drawings:
[0011] Fig. 1 - suspension unit, general view;
[0012] Fig. 2 - the same, bottom view at ¾ angle.
[0013] The suspension unit contains two longitudinal levers 1, connected by a coupler 2, and platforms 3 for attaching air springs (not shown).
[0014] Trailing arms 1 are designed as unequal-arm levers and comprise a longer arm and a shorter arm. Trailing arms 1 can be T- or I-beam-shaped. At the intersection of the arms 1 and at the end of the longer arm, hinge housings are provided with a hole for accommodating the hinge assembly 4. At the end of the shorter arm, a hole 5 is provided for the coupler 2. Hole 5 for the coupler is oval.
[0015] Tie rod 2 is installed in the openings 5 of longitudinal arms 1 via a press fit and can have any geometric cross-section, including oval. The connecting sections of tie rod 2 are shaped to prevent it from twisting within the openings 5 of arms 1. The press-fit connection of tie rod 2 to longitudinal arms 1 eliminates the need for a detachable connection, which requires numerous connecting components and weakens the longitudinal arm structure due to constant vibration and dynamic loads. To ensure a more secure connection, the connection of tie rod 2 to arms 1 can be additionally secured against longitudinal movement by any available means.
[0016] The mounting pads 3 for the air springs are designed as plates and are detachably mounted to the coupler 2 using brackets. The brackets consist of two parts, 6 and 7. Part 6 is permanently connected to the mounting pad 3, while the other part, 7, is detachably connected to part 6. The design of the brackets and the oval shape of coupler 2 ensure a tight, secure fit of the mounting pads 3 on coupler 2, preventing their displacement. The outer edge of the mounting pads 3 rests on the surface of the longitudinal arms 1.
[0017] The utility model has improved the reliability and durability of the suspension unit.
[0018] The suspension unit can be manufactured on standard technological equipment using well-known materials and technologies.
