AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing feed pushers for cattle farms are cumbersome and prone to feed sticking and deviation, requiring manual intervention and posing safety risks, especially when dealing with simple feed distribution tasks.

Method used

A hydraulic scraper feed pusher with a reciprocating scraper mechanism driven by a hydraulic cylinder, controlled by inductive switches and a hydraulic system, which adjusts feed distribution efficiently and safely without complex mechanisms.

Benefits of technology

Ensures efficient feed distribution, minimizes manual labor, reduces stress in cattle, and maintains constant access to balanced nutrition by filling gaps on the feeding table.

Abstract

This utility model relates to agriculture and is intended primarily for use on cattle farms to regulate the distribution of feed to animals. The feed pusher consists of a scraper that reciprocates along a support sheet and guide channel using stops welded to rods. The rods are connected by connectors. When the scraper reaches its end position, stops on the rods move a carriage within a slider. As the carriage moves, it raises one pawl and lowers the other, thus initiating the scraper's reverse motion. The reciprocating motion of the rods is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder, which is mounted in a box along with inductive switches.

Description

[0001] The utility model relates to agriculture and is intended for use primarily on cattle farms to adjust the distribution of feed to animals.

[0002] A highly mobile feed pusher with an active auger rotor is known (patent RU 220439 U1 2023.09.13). The final product is a robotic self-propelled platform designed to push feed onto the feeding table of animals kept in stalls on a livestock farm. The feed pusher moves at a set frequency according to a program and, with the help of an active auger rotor, moves the feed mass towards the animals. After completing the working cycle, the platform is placed on a charging station. The feed pusher is oriented in space using ultrasonic distance sensors and electronic gyrocompass sensors; the feed pusher is also equipped with obstacle sensors in front of the auger rotor. A known feed pusher robot is the DeLaval OptiDuo [DeLaval OptiDuo-DeLaval; https: / / www.delaval.com].[com / ru / explore / feeding / delaval-optiduo / ] for mixing and redistributing feed on the feeding table, where the feed is moved by a double-spiral auger with an adaptive drive. The system can automatically transport various types of feed, including any single-mixtures, straw, hay, and fresh grass. The disadvantages of this robotic feed mover include its complex design, the possibility of feed sticking to the auger, the risk of being drawn into the auger, and the danger of the auger becoming dangerous if the robotic feed mover deviates from its path.

[0003] The closest technical solution to the claimed invention is a feed pusher [RU 193512, A01K 5 / 02, A01K 29 / 00], comprising a feed pusher comprising a rotating cylindrical housing. Known devices are cumbersome and redundant for situations where the feed mixture does not require special preparation, is available in sufficient quantity for feeding cattle (hereinafter referred to as cattle), and only adjustment of the feed arrangement along the feeding table is required. During feeding, empty spaces are formed as a result of the food consumed. Furthermore, cows push some of the feed aside, so it is necessary to periodically push the feed forward to fill the gaps. For this purpose, either manual labor or special devices—feed pushers—are used, thanks to which the bulk of the feed is moved to the feeding table, filling all the empty spaces. This means that lower-ranking cows are not forced to empty feeders, which in turn reduces competition and lowers the stress cows experience at the feeder. Such devices can ensure dairy cows have constant access to properly balanced nutrition. This not only helps maximize dry matter intake but also minimizes feed splitting, allowing cows to use their time more efficiently.

[0004] Hydraulic scraper feed pusher PKSG-1 (hereinafter referred to as the pusher). The technical solution of the pusher is explained by the images in Figs. 1-4. Fig. 1 is a diagram of the pusher design, consisting of a scraper 1, which moves along a support sheet 9 and a guide channel 8. The scraper moves due to stops that are welded to rods 2 and 3. The rods are connected to each other by connectors 10. The reciprocating movement of the rods is performed by a hydraulic cylinder, which is installed in a box 4 together with inductive switches. The hydraulic cylinder is driven by a hydraulic station 5 and is connected to it by high-pressure hoses 6. The pusher is controlled from a control cabinet 7.

[0005] The hydraulic system of the pusher is designed to control the operation of the hydraulic cylinder Fig. 4. It consists of a hydraulic tank 1, an oil pump 2, a hydraulic distributor 3, a hydraulic cylinder 4, a pressure reducing valve 5, an oil filter 6. The pump is driven by an electric motor located on the hydraulic tank.

[0006] Hydraulic distributor 3 is designed to change the direction of the working fluid flow in the hydraulic system. The operation of the pusher during the working and idle strokes is shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3. During the working stroke (Fig. 2), the pusher scraper is open and moves in the direction of the arrow. This shifts the feed from the center of the feeding table to the area where animals can eat the feed. During the idle stroke (Fig. 3), the pusher scraper moves in the opposite direction in the folded position, allowing the passage of vehicles.
