Abstract
Description
[0001] The utility model relates to the field of construction, namely to ceramic or porcelain-granite slabs intended for attachment to horizontal and vertical surfaces on the inside or outside of buildings.
[0002] A well-known classic method of covering a surface is to attach tiles to a surface that has undergone special preparation (wall leveling, plastering, puttying, priming, etc.) using tile adhesive.
[0003] The disadvantages of the known method are:
[0004] the need to use skilled labor;
[0005] high requirements for surface pre-treatment;
[0006] Long drying time for walls after each operation (plastering, puttying, priming, gluing tiles, grouting);
[0007] non-disassemblable structure;
[0008] When fastening the slabs to the floor, it is necessary to either fix gypsum fiber boards to it, or pour a cement screed with reinforcement;
[0009] Limited surface material for gluing boards (for example, wooden walls need to be covered with plasterboard boards after constructing a frame).
[0010] A method for producing ceramic tiles that do not require grouting is known [RU Patent for Invention No. 2606893, published on 10.01.2017], which involves providing a strong surface having a lower surface; casting a base to accommodate at least a section of the strong surface therein; fastening the strong surface to the base by injection molding the base around at least a section of the strong surface so that the strong surface is at least partially inserted inside the base; and after casting the base to obtain at least a section of the strong surface, milling at least a section of the base to create a first connecting element on the edge of the base and a second connecting element on the other edge of the base.
[0011] A multi-purpose tile system is known [patent for invention EA No. 041093, published on 13.09.2022], configured to be connected in a chevron pattern, in which each tile comprises a first pair of opposite edges, consisting of a first edge and an opposite second edge, and a second pair of opposite edges, consisting of a third edge and an opposite fourth edge, wherein the first pair of opposite edges is characterized by the presence of pairs of opposite first mechanical connecting means for fixing said tiles, at least vertically, and the second pair of opposite edges is characterized by the presence of pairs of second mechanical connecting means for fixing said tiles, at least vertically.
[0012] However, existing technical solutions are characterized by a complex method of joining tile elements, requiring the production of tile elements with complex geometric shapes and strict adherence to dimensions to ensure seamless joining. Furthermore, their production requires complex technological processes, such as molding, casting, etc., as well as specialized factory conditions.
[0013] The technical result of the claimed utility model is the elimination of the above-mentioned disadvantages of known technical solutions.
[0014] The specified technical result is achieved due to the fact that the facing and decorative module includes a tiled element provided with a substrate, wherein in the substrate, in each of the two adjacent sides, a protrusion is formed beyond the tiled element, in each of the adjacent sides opposite to the specified protrusion, a cutout is formed, corresponding to the specified protrusion, the size of the cutout is chosen to be larger than the size of the protrusion corresponding to it, and an additional plate is attached to the substrate so that it covers the cutouts, forming a groove intended for placing the corresponding protrusion of another module in it.
[0015] There are possible options for developing the basic technical solution, which consist of the following:
[0016] at least one hole is formed in at least one projection of the substrate layer for attaching the module to the surface;
[0017] A reinforcing mesh layer is located between the substrate layer and the tile element.
[0018] Thus, a fundamentally new and simple method of surface cladding has been proposed. The proposed technical solution reduces the requirements for the surface material and its preliminary preparation, simplifies the manufacturing process, and enables the creation of prefabricated and disassemblable cladding and decorative modules with reduced requirements for the precision of the substrate's shape. This is due to the fact that cutouts and protrusions create a tongue-and-groove joint horizontally along the cladding surface.
[0019] The proposed technical solution is explained in more detail using figures and the following description.
[0020] Fig. 1 shows one of the variants of the facing and decorative module from the front side.
[0021] Fig. 2 shows the facing and decorative module from Fig. 1 from the reverse side.
[0022] Fig. 3 shows a facing and decorative module with an additional plate on the reverse side.
[0023] Fig. 4 shows a facing and decorative module with an additional plate (side view).
[0024] The facing and decorative module (Fig. 1-4) includes a tile element 1, provided with a substrate 2.
[0025] Tile element 1 may be made of a single tile or consist of multiple tiles.
[0026] In the substrate 2, in each of the two adjacent sides, a protrusion 3 is formed, protruding beyond the tile element 1.
[0027] And in each of the opposite said adjacent sides a cutout 4 is formed, corresponding to the said protrusion 3.
[0028] The size of cutout 4 is selected to be larger than the size of the corresponding protrusion 3.
[0029] The thickness of underlay 2 is selected to support the weight of tile element 1 and also depends on the type of surface to be tiled. For example, when laying on a floor, underlay 2 requires greater load-bearing capacity and rigidity.
[0030] The edges of the substrate 2 extend beyond the edges of the tile element 1, forming protrusions 3 (ridges) and notches 4 that do not reach the edge of the module by the same amount as the protrusions 3 extend beyond the edges of the module. Thus, the protrusions 3 of one module must fit into the notches 4 of another module when they are joined.
[0031] At least one hole 5 may be formed in at least one protrusion 3 for attaching the module to the surface 6 using fasteners (not shown in the figures).
[0032] A reinforcing mesh layer 7 may be located between the substrate 2 and the tile element 1.
[0033] The cutout 4 can be formed in the thickness of the substrate 2.
[0034] An additional plate 8 is attached to the substrate 2 so that it overlaps the cutouts 4, forming a groove intended for placing the corresponding protrusion 3 of another module into it.
[0035] Tile element 1 can be ceramic tile, porcelain tile, concrete tile, etc.
[0036] OSB, plywood, simple or moisture-resistant, fiberboard, chipboard, metal, plastic, etc. can be used as substrate 2.
[0037] Glue, liquid nails, sealant, or foam-based adhesive can be used as a material for attaching the tile element 1 and the substrate 2.
[0038] The substrate 2 can be attached thereto by mechanical means (such as clamps, etc.).
[0039] A method for facing a surface using facing and decorative modules includes attaching a first facing and decorative module to the surface (not shown in the figures) for facing, and attaching at least one more facing and decorative module to it on the surface for facing.
[0040] Each of the modules is preliminarily formed by providing the tile element 1 with a substrate 2 protruding beyond the edges of the tile element 1.
[0041] In the substrate 2, a protrusion 3 is formed on two adjacent sides.
[0042] A cutout 4 is formed on the opposite adjacent sides corresponding to the protrusion 3, wherein the size of the cutout 4 is chosen to be larger than the size of the corresponding protrusion 3.
[0043] The modules are connected on the cladding surface by joining the protrusions 3 and the cutouts 4 in a tongue-and-groove pattern in the substrate 2, inserting each protrusion horizontally into the cutout along the cladding surface.
[0044] Thus, in essence, a fundamentally different method of attaching tiles to surfaces has been proposed, which does not have the disadvantages of its analogues.
