Abstract
Description
[0001] The utility model relates to packing elements for packing apparatuses in the chemical, oil and gas, food and related industries and can be used to carry out absorption, desorption, rectification and other heat and mass transfer processes.
[0002] A nozzle element for nozzle devices is known, containing two symmetrical parts installed at right angles to each other (Patent for Utility Model RU 95555 U1, filed on 02.07.2008, published on 10.07.2010).
[0003] The disadvantage of the known packing element for packed apparatuses is the small surface area of phase contact, which leads to a decrease in the intensity of processes in packed apparatuses.
[0004] The purpose of the utility model is to increase the surface area of phase contact, which will intensify the processes in packed apparatuses.
[0005] The said result is achieved due to the fact that the proposed element of a packing device for packing devices, containing two symmetrical parts installed at right angles to each other, the cross-section of the symmetrical parts has the shape of half an epicycloid with four cusps, and the line dividing the epicycloid into two halves passes through the tops of two petals of the epicycloid.
[0006] A three-dimensional model of the proposed packing element for packing devices is shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of an epicycloid with four cusps, the dotted line showing the division line of the epicycloid into two halves, passing through the vertices of two petals of the epicycloid.
[0007] The table shows an example comparison of the surface area of the proposed packing element for packing devices with a known packing element for packing devices. For a fair comparison, we assume equal geometric dimensions for the packing elements for packing devices.
[0008] The known packing element for packing devices has two symmetrical parts shaped like half rings, mounted at right angles to each other. The circle describing the half ring's cross-section has a diameter of 25 mm. The wall thickness of the half rings is 3 mm. The height of the packing element for packing devices is 25 mm.
[0009] The proposed packing element for packing devices has two symmetrical parts installed at right angles to each other, shaped like half an epicycloid with four cusps. The line dividing the epicycloid into two halves passes through the vertices of two lobes of the epicycloid. The circle describing the cross-section of the epicycloid has a diameter of 25 mm. The wall thickness of the symmetrical parts, shaped like half an epicycloid with four cusps, is 3 mm. The height of the packing element for packing devices is 25 mm.
[0010] Nozzle elements for nozzle devices Area of all surfaces, mm2 Known from patent RU 95555 U1 4098,442 Proposed 4214,767
[0011] According to the results presented in the table, the proposed packing element for packed apparatuses has a larger overall surface area—the phase contact surface area—and thus allows for intensified processes in packed apparatuses. This statement also holds true for other packing element geometric dimensions for packed apparatuses, as well as with other wall thicknesses. Consequently, the stated technical result, namely, an increase in the phase contact surface area, is achieved.
[0012] Thus, the design of a packing element for packing devices, containing two symmetrical parts installed at right angles to each other, with a cross-section of the symmetrical parts in the form of half an epicycloid with four cusps, wherein the line dividing the epicycloid into two halves passes through the tops of two petals of the epicycloid, makes it possible to increase the surface area of phase contact and, thereby, makes it possible to intensify the processes in packing devices.
Claims
