Description

[0001] The technical solution relates to the field of construction, in particular to mounting a lamp on a plasterboard ceiling.

[0002] The closest to the claimed technical solution is “Assembly and method for connecting an electrical module” BE 1021945 [1], which contains an embedded part installed in a ceiling opening and a connecting element for connecting the electrical module.

[0003] A drawback of the known solution is the impossibility of replacing the threaded part if the threads are damaged or worn without completely dismantling the embedded part from the building structure. If the threads are stripped or corroded, it is necessary to demolish a section of concrete or masonry to remove the entire embedded part, which entails significant labor and material costs for repairs.

[0004] The technical result consists in providing the possibility of replacing a worn or damaged threaded part of an embedded part without dismantling the embedded part itself from the body of concrete or other building material.

[0005] The technical result is achieved in that a hidden fastening device for a suspended light fixture in a plasterboard ceiling, containing an embedded part, made with the possibility of installation in a ceiling opening, and a connecting element for connecting an electrical module, is characterized in that the embedded part is made in the form of a plate with a central opening and with the possibility of fixing on the upper surface of the plasterboard sheet with fasteners, wherein the device additionally contains a sleeve with an internal thread, installed in the embedded part by means of screw connections, and a front cover connected to a cylinder with an external thread, interacting with the internal thread of the aforementioned sleeve.

[0006] Implementation

[0007] Fig. 1 shows the detailing during installation, with the embedded part installed, Fig. 2 shows the installation of the threaded sleeve, Fig. 3 shows the installation of the threaded sleeve, a variant with a gasket, Fig. 4 shows the puttying of the outer surface with a temporary cover, Fig. 5 shows the installed luminaire assembly, Fig. 6 shows a sectional view of a variant using a cable with a ball clamp, where:

[0008] 1 - plasterboard ceiling sheet with hole;

[0009] 2 - mortgage;

[0010] 3 - location of fastening element;

[0011] 4 - power cable;

[0012] 5 - sleeve with internal thread;

[0013] 6 - cover connected to cylinder with external thread;

[0014] 7 - mounting screws;

[0015] 8 - replaceable gasket;

[0016] 9 - cable clamp;

[0017] 10 - putty;

[0018] 11 - lamp cable;

[0019] 12 - ball clamp (clamp) of the cable;

[0020] 13 - lamp;

[0021] 14 - nuts in the insert;

[0022] 15 - capital ceiling.

[0023] The device operates as follows.

[0024] A hole is made in plasterboard ceiling sheet 1. A flashing 2 is inserted through this hole and installed on the ceiling from above. To secure it, it is secured with fasteners, such as self-tapping screws. The location of the fastener is shown in 3. This creates a fixed flashing in the plasterboard ceiling. Another method for attaching it is to make a hole in the sheets before installing the plasterboard ceiling and secure this flashing to the sheet on the floor. Then, the plasterboard sheets are installed on the ceiling together with the flashing. The power cable is shown schematically in 4.

[0025] Next, install the threaded sleeve 5 into the embedded part by screwing it onto the fixing screws 7, which are screwed into the nuts 14 installed in the embedded part. This creates a ready-made structure for a plasterboard ceiling. However, ceilings with different board thicknesses may have different thicknesses. In this case, before installing the threaded sleeve, install spacers 8 to match the missing height.

[0026] This way, the installation height can be adjusted.

[0027] There are 2 options:

[0028] 1. Temporary cover 6 (without a hole) is installed to allow for filling the ceiling. This cover is then removed and a permanent face cover with a hole is installed. The intermediate cover is needed to prevent the filler and paint application from damaging the surface of the main cover.

[0029] 2. The threaded sleeve is equipped with flanges for puttying.

[0030] Before painting, you can cover the hole, for example with foam rubber (essentially the same temporary cover, but it is only needed during painting).

[0031] Next, the temporary cover is removed. A conductive cable is pulled from the ceiling to the light fixture. First, the main cover (6) is installed in the return cable from the light fixture, then the light fixture cable mount (4) (which will hold the light fixture).

[0032] The cover screws into the threaded sleeve. The light cable mount is located on the cover itself and holds the light in place.

[0033] The luminaire can also have two suspensions: one conductive, the other a thin steel cable. This mounting scheme also applies to the cable. The only difference is that the cable has a different mounting method. It is implemented using a threaded clamp with a 12 mm ball lock inside a threaded sleeve.

[0034] Below is an explanation of the influence of each feature on the technical result.

[0035] Feature: concealed mounting device for pendant lamp in plasterboard ceiling.

[0036] Effect: The hidden placement of the fastening unit in the area of the gypsum board hole reduces the risk of accidental mechanical impacts and corrosion / operational damage to the threaded parts, increasing the safety of the unit in operation.

[0037] Feature: Contains a built-in part that is installed in a ceiling hole.

[0038] Effect: The embedded part creates a permanent base that remains in the ceiling structure; this allows for future maintenance / replacement of threaded elements without destroying the ceiling or removing the base part.

[0039] Feature: Contains a connecting element for connecting an electrical module.

[0040] Effect: Ensures functional integration of the luminaire (connection) without the need for "reworking" the fastening part; reduces the number of disassemblies / assemblies of the fastening during electrical maintenance, thereby reducing the risk of thread damage.

[0041] Distinctive feature: the embedded part is made in the form of a plate with a central hole.

[0042] Effect: The plate distributes the load from the pendant / luminaire over a larger area of the gypsum board's upper surface, reducing localized stress and the risk of tearing / deformation. The central hole ensures alignment and correct installation of the replaceable threaded part, improving the stability of the threaded connections and their service life.

[0043] Distinctive feature: the embedded part can be fixed to the upper surface of the plasterboard sheet.

[0044] Effect: The "top-down" fixation eliminates the need to destroy the trim / ceiling to hold the embedded part and prevents it from turning when loosening / screwing the threaded parts; this directly supports the possibility of replacing the threaded part without dismantling the embedded part.

[0045] Distinctive feature: the device additionally contains a sleeve with an internal thread.

[0046] Effect: The bushing is a replaceable threaded part that absorbs wear, thread stripping, and corrosion damage. If damaged, the bushing, not the insert, is replaced. This is a key feature that ensures the stated technical result.

[0047] Distinctive feature: the sleeve is installed in the insert using a screw connection.

[0048] Effect: The detachable screw fastening makes the bushing serviceable: it can be unscrewed / removed and a new one installed without interfering with the building structure. Additionally, the screw fastening provides predictable clamping / rigidity and reduces backlash, which reduces thread loosening during operation.

[0049] Distinctive feature: the device comprises a face cover connected to a cylinder with an external thread interacting with the internal thread of the sleeve.

[0050] Effect: The faceplate acts as a serviceable external threaded element, allowing for repeated installation / removal of the luminaire and access to the unit. Wear is then transferred to the threaded connection between the faceplate and the bushing, which can be repaired by replacing the bushing (and / or faceplate) without removing the insert. This increases the lifespan of the unit and simplifies repairs.

[0051] Item 2 of the formula

[0052] Feature: Replaceable spacers are installed between the embedded part and the threaded sleeve to compensate for the different thickness of the plasterboard ceiling.

[0053] Effect: The spacers ensure the correct installation height and full fit of threaded elements under different ceiling thicknesses.

[0054] Item 3 of the formula

[0055] Feature: The device additionally contains a temporary protective cover installed during finishing work.

[0056] Effect: The protection prevents putty / paint / dust from getting into the thread and onto the mating surfaces, which preserves the possibility of its maintenance / replacement without dismantling the embedded part.

[0057] Item 4 of the formula

[0058] Feature: the threaded sleeve is made with flanges that form a border for applying the putty composition.

[0059] Effect: The sides localize the putty, preventing it from flowing into the threaded area.

[0060] Item 5 of the formula

[0061] Feature: additionally contains a clamp with a ball lock for fastening the supporting cable of the lamp, installed in the body of the threaded sleeve.

[0062] Effect: Inserting a separate support cable redistributes the load: the bulk of the luminaire's weight is supported by the cable, not the conductive cable or connecting elements. The unit remains serviceable via a replaceable bushing without removing the embedded part.

[0063] Industrial applicability

[0064] This concealed pendant light mounting device is designed for mass use in the construction and finishing industries, particularly for installing suspended plasterboard ceilings. It can be used to install a wide range of electric lighting fixtures—from lightweight decorative ones to heavy functional models—in residential, office, commercial, and industrial spaces. The device's design ensures compatibility with typical plasterboard thicknesses, standard electrical installation systems, and finishing technologies (spackling, painting), confirming its readiness for mass production and widespread use.
