Description

[0001] The utility model relates to animal husbandry, namely, to devices that meet the needs of sheep breeding during insemination.

[0002] A device is known for selecting ewes “in heat” (author’s certificate No. 1824120 published on June 30, 1993), containing a base for sheep, equipped with bases for ewes in heat and a base for rams, connected to a labyrinth of runs for them, which end with additional bases for stimulating “hunting” in ewes.

[0003] The disadvantage of this well-known device for selecting ewes "in heat" is the bulkiness of the design and insufficient access to the ewe when selecting them "in heat".

[0004] A device for selecting ewes "in heat" is known (Improving the technology of artificial insemination of sheep Kornienko-Zhilyaeva L.V., dissertation for a PhD in biology, Lesnye Polyany, Moscow region, 2008, 106 p.), containing a "catching complex", the operation of which is that the sheep that entered the "complex" sector are driven into a common base. The gates to the "complex" sector were left open. Ewes in a state of sexual "heat" were closed in the accumulation sector, isolating those who entered the accumulation sector from the rest of the flock. Then they were driven to the sector for uninseminated ewes. The ewes selected for insemination were driven into a split, which served as a group pen.

[0005] The disadvantages of this well-known device are that its use does not facilitate the work of selecting sheep “in heat”, and does not reduce the labor costs of conducting a mating campaign in flocks.

[0006] The closest technical solution to the claimed utility model is a device for selecting ewes "in heat," consisting of a partition-driver installed between adjacent pen stalls close to the artificial insemination station. Near the artificial insemination station, rams were released into the pen. The partition-driver was positioned in the far left position. At night, the flock of sheep was arranged around the device. During the night, ewes in heat, responding to the rams and seeking to approach them, entered the pen through passages with inward-opening doors and gathered around the pen with the rams, remaining there until insemination. In the morning, using a movable partition-driver, separated ewes “in heat” were driven through the pen, and through the exit split they entered the insemination stall (Magomedov 3.3. Increasing the efficiency of sheep insemination. Zootechnics. No. 6 2001. pp. 25-27).

[0007] The disadvantage of the prototype for sampling ewes "in heat" is the complexity of the design and a large number of operational steps, which leads to a long period of time for sampling ewes "in heat".

[0008] The technical result of the proposed device is a simplification of the design to ensure a complete sample of ewes “in heat”.

[0009] The technical result is achieved by using a device that is a square plate secured to the back of a test ram with a knot of the ends of a string, and the upper part of the plate of the device is in close contact with the lower part of the ram's abdomen and is located in front of its genital organ, and the lower part of the plate is not secured and remains in a free state, which does not allow the test ram to penetrate the genital organs of the ewe before selecting ewes in "heat" during an attempt to mount the ewe and helps to select ewes in "heat".

[0010] The prior art does not know of a solution containing a set of features similar to the proposed solution.

[0011] The device consists of a square plate made from a rubber inner tube from a car tire. The top two sections of the plate have two holes, each with a jute string threaded through it.

[0012] The proposed device is illustrated by the figure. The proposed device for selecting ewes "in heat" consists of a square plate 1 measuring 300 mm × 300 mm, on which two technical openings 2, 3 are located in the two upper parts; a 700 mm string 4 with free ends is passed through these openings.

[0013] The proposed device is used as follows. Before selecting ewes in heat, the ends of the device's string are knotted on the back of the tester ram so that the upper part of the device rests flush with the ram's lower abdomen and is located in front of its genitals. The lower part of the device is not secured and is left free. When the tester ram attempts to mount the ewe, the device prevents his genitals from penetrating the ewe's genitals.

[0014] The advantage of the proposed device, compared to the prototype device, is its simplified design for selecting ewes in heat, ensuring ease of assembly and disassembly, reducing manual labor costs, and ultimately enabling a complete selection of ewes in heat. The prototype device, compared to the proposed device, has a complex design, requiring a large number of operational steps, resulting in a longer period of time for selecting ewes in heat.
