Abstract
Description
[0001] The utility model relates to the field of the superstructure of a railway track both on a track section without switches and on a track section with a switch, a joint and a leveling device, namely to a device for fastening rails to a sub-rail base (ballastless slabs, sleepers, beams, etc.) using clamps.
[0002] A stop for a side rail fastening unit is known from the prior art (Korean Patent No. 101305455, published on September 6, 2013), comprising a housing having an end wall with an external projection designed to engage with a groove in a gasket located on its short side.
[0003] The external projection on the end wall of the side stop allows for the stop and spacer to be interlocked, thereby reducing the likelihood of the side stop slipping out of the rail fastening. However, the side stop and spacer only contact each other along the side surfaces of the parts, which have a narrow contact area in the vertical plane. This prevents the damping of vertical vibrations that occur during train movement, thereby reducing the operational reliability of the rail fastening.
[0004] Also known is a side rail fastening assembly stop (RU Patent No. 236641, published August 15, 2025), considered the closest analogue to the claimed solution. It comprises a housing with a recess on the lower surface containing a rectangular projection. The recess and projection of the stop are configured to connect, respectively, to the projections and a U-shaped groove located between them on the support plate of the rail fastening assembly. The projections and the rectangular groove between them are located along the short side of the support plate.
[0005] In this case, the relative movement of the side stop and the rail fastening element is limited by the engagement of the stop's projection with the corresponding groove of the rail fastening element. Moreover, due to the contact between the projections of the rail fastening element's "fork" and the recess on the bottom surface of the side stop, not only the underrail portion of the rail fastening element, but also the additional area of its projections, is used to distribute and transmit the vertically directed external load.
[0006] However, the rectangular shape of the side stop projection leads to stress concentrations in the corners of the projection when it contacts the mating U-shaped groove of the rail fastening element, which leads to gradual failure of the components during operation. All this indicates an insufficient service life and reliability of the rail fastening assembly that includes this side stop.
[0007] The technical problem of the claimed utility model is the creation of a stop for the side unit of a rail fastening, which ensures an increase in the service life of the rail fastening unit.
[0008] The technical result of the utility model is to ensure more stable and reliable operation of the side stop when experiencing multidirectional external loads, increasing the service life of both the stop itself and the rail fastening unit.
[0009] The technical result is achieved by using a side stop for a rail fastening assembly, comprising a housing with a recess on the lower surface containing a rectangular projection. The recess and projection of the side stop are configured to connect, respectively, to the projections and the groove located between them of a rail fastening element. Moreover, the projection on the lower surface of the side stop and the groove of the rail fastening element are rounded.
[0010] In the context of the present utility model, the rail fastening element is a damping pad, a shock-absorbing pad, a support plate of a rail fastening unit, a lining (for a section of a railway track without a switch), a lining with a cushion, a single lining (for a section of a railway track with a switch) and other types of pads and linings that have a “fork”, that is, protrusions and a groove between them, located on the short side of the rail fastening element.
[0011] In a particular case, the longitudinal axis of the stop projection is located along the long side of the stop.
[0012] The longitudinal axis of the stop projection is the axis located along the long side of this projection.
[0013] In a particular case, the rounding of the stop projection is made with such a radius that the length of the straight section along the long side of the stop projection is made no less than the length of the straight section along the short side of the said projection.
[0014] In a particular case, the height of the stop projection is made equal to the height of the recess on the bottom surface of the stop.
[0015] In a particular case, the width of the stop projection is made smaller than the width of the recess on the bottom surface of the stop.
[0016] In a particular case, the recess on the lower surface of the stop is limited by the side walls.
[0017] In a particular case, on the lower surface of the stop, including in the protrusion area, recesses are made to save material during the manufacture of the product.
[0018] The creation of a recess on the lower surface of the side stop, as in the case of the closest analogue, allows the side stop to be installed over the projections of the rail fastening element or, in other words, to “insert” the projections of the rail fastening element inside the side stop, which ensures an increase in the contact area of the stop and the rail fastening element in the vertical plane for a more uniform and distributed damping of the vertically directed external load during the movement of a rail vehicle.
[0019] The rounded projection on the lower surface of the side stop, as well as the ability to connect this projection to the mating groove of the rail fastening element, ensures tighter and more uniform contact between the surfaces of the parts, eliminating the occurrence of corner zones with increased concentrations of destructive stress. This increases the lateral contact area between the projection of the side stop and the groove of the rail fastening element, which also allows for more uniform absorption and distribution of the lateral load from the train.
[0020] Making the stop projection such that its longitudinal axis is located along the long side of the stop allows the longer side of the stop projection to be in contact with the groove of the rail fastening element, which ensures an increase in the contact area of the two parts for greater perception and uniform damping of the lateral external load.
[0021] The implementation of rounding of the projection of the stop with such a radius that the length of the straight section B along the long side of the said projection is made not less than the length of the straight section A (see Fig. 2, 5) along the short side of the said projection, makes it possible to additionally preserve the above-mentioned principle, when the longer side of the projection of the stop is connected with the mating groove of the rail fastening element for the perception and more uniform damping of the lateral external load arising during the movement of the rail vehicle.
[0022] In this case, the value of the radius of the rounding of the protrusion is in the range of values from 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 of the width of the protrusion of the stop inclusive.
[0023] Making the length B of the stop projection shorter than the length A of the stop projection results in an insufficient contact area between the stop and the rail fastening element, which results in a reduction in the service life and reliability of the rail fastening.
[0024] Making the height of the stop projection equal to the height of the recess on the bottom surface of the stop, and making the width of said projection smaller than the width of said recess, ensures a tight overlap of the stop and the rail fastening element during assembly, with an increased contact area or "covering" area to absorb vertically directed external loads. This also eliminates the formation of gaps between the stop projection and the mating groove on the rail fastening element's "fork," which could trap various contaminants (small debris, dirt, dust, etc.).
[0025] Thus, the claimed solution allows for more stable and reliable operation of the side stop when subjected to multidirectional external loads, increasing the service life of both the stop itself and the rail fastening unit.
[0026] Fig. 1 shows a general view from above of the claimed side stop according to the first embodiment.
[0027] Fig. 2 shows a general view from below of the claimed side stop according to the first embodiment.
[0028] Fig. 3 shows a general view showing the connection of the side stop according to the first embodiment and the rail fastening element for a section of a railway track with a turnout.
[0029] Fig. 4 shows a general view from above of the claimed side stop according to the second embodiment.
[0030] Fig. 5 shows a general view from below of the claimed side stop according to the second embodiment.
[0031] Fig. 6 shows a general view showing the connection of the side stop according to the second embodiment and the rail fastening element for a section of a railway track without switches, a joint and a leveling device.
[0032] The following element symbols are shown in the figures:
[0033] 1 - side stop body;
[0034] 2 - lower surface of the side stop;
[0035] 3 - recess on the lower surface of the side stop;
[0036] 4 - side stop projection;
[0037] 5 - rounding on the side stop protrusion;
[0038] 6 - side walls of the side stop;
[0039] 7 - rail fastening element;
[0040] 8 - rail fastening element projections;
[0041] 9 - groove of rail fastening element;
[0042] 10 - rounding of the groove of the rail fastening element;
[0043] 11 - notches on the lower surface of the side stop.
[0044] The stop of the side rail fastening unit contains a body 1, on the lower surface 2 of which a recess 3 is made (Fig. 1, 4).
[0045] In the central part of the said recess 3, a rectangular protrusion 4 is located, made with roundings 5 in the corner zones.
[0046] Protrusion 4 is oriented in recess 3 of the stop in such a way that its longitudinal axis is located along the long side of the stop, that is, the long side of protrusion 4 of the stop is located along the long side of the stop, and the short sides of protrusion 4 are located along the short sides of the stop.
[0047] In this case, the radius of the roundings 5 of the projection 4 of the stop is made such that the straight section B on the long side of the said projection 4 of the stop is made no less in size than the length of the straight section A on the short side of the said projection 4 (Fig. 2, 5).
[0048] The length B of the straight section of the long side of the projection 4 of the stop is the difference between the value of the entire length of the long side of the projection 4 and the value of the double radius (or diameter) of the roundings 5 of the projection 4. The length A of the straight section of the short side of the projection 4 of the stop is the difference between the value of the entire length of the short side of the projection 4 and the value of the rounding radius 5 of the projection 4. In this case, the value of the rounding radius 5 of the projection 4 is in the range of values from 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 of the width of the projection 4 of the stop, inclusive.
[0049] The height of the projection 4 of the stop is made equal to the height of the recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the stop, and the width of the projection 4 is made smaller than the width of the said recess 3 (Fig. 2, 5).
[0050] The recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the side stop can be limited by the side walls 6 (Fig. 5).
[0051] According to Fig. 3, 6, the recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the side stop is made with the possibility of connection with the projections 8 of the rail fastening element 7. The projection 4 of the side stop with roundings 5 is made with the possibility of connection with the mating groove 9 of the rail fastening element 7, located between the said projections 8 and also having roundings 10.
[0052] The element of the rail fastening 7 is a damping pad, a shock-absorbing pad, a support plate, a lining, a lining with a cushion, a single lining and other pads and linings of the rail fastening unit, having an H-shaped “fork” on the short side, that is, protrusions 8 and a groove 9 located between them with roundings 10.
[0053] The protrusions 8 of the rail fastening element and the groove 9 between them are located along the short side of the rail fastening element 7.
[0054] The side stop also includes a hole for installing a fastening element (not shown), as well as protrusions and recesses on its upper surface (not shown) intended to accommodate terminal components. These components of the side stop are not the subject of the claimed solution.
[0055] Additionally, on the lower surface 2 of the side stop, including in the area of the projection 4, recesses 11 can be made to save material during the manufacture of the product (Fig. 3, 6).
[0056] The rail fastening with the claimed stop is assembled as follows.
[0057] On the sub-rail base (ballastless slabs, sleepers, beams, etc.) the rail fastening elements 7 are laid, which have projections 8 and a groove 9 located between them with roundings 10, a sub-rail pad, and a rail.
[0058] Next, install the side stops on both sides of the rail fastening elements 7. In this case, the recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the side stop is placed on top of the “fork” of the rail fastening element 7 so that the projections 8 of the rail fastening element 7 are tightly connected with the recess 3 on the stop, and the projection 4 of the stop with roundings 5 is tightly connected with the mating groove 9 with roundings 10. Thus, the side stop and the rail fastening element 7 are connected together like Lego pieces, that is, the stop “snaps” onto the mating parts of the rail fastening element 7.
[0059] Next, spring clamps are installed on the stop, and a fastening element is installed in its hole.
[0060] The rail fastening is dismantled in reverse order.
[0061] Example 1.
[0062] A side stop is shown, which is used as part of a rail fastening unit for a section of a railway track with a turnout (Fig. 3).
[0063] When installing the rail fastening, recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the side stop is connected by projections 8 of the backing pad, intended for use in the rail fastening assembly for turnouts. Protrusion 4 in recess 3 of the backing pad, formed with roundings 5, is connected to a corresponding groove 9 with roundings 10 on the said backing pad.
[0064] The length of the straight section A along the short side of the projection 4 is made equal to 18 mm.
[0065] The length of the straight section B along the long side of the projection 4 is made equal to 41 mm.
[0066] The radius of rounding 5 of protrusion 4 on the lower surface 2 of the stop is made equal to 16±0.5 mm, including the boundary values.
[0067] Example 2.
[0068] A lateral stop is shown, which is used as part of a rail fastening unit on a switchless section of a railway track, a joint and a leveling device (Fig. 6).
[0069] In this case, the recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the side stop is limited by the side walls 6 of the stop.
[0070] Recess 3 on the lower surface 2 of the side stop is connected to projections 8 of a lining intended for use in a rail fastening assembly for a track section without switches. Projection 4 in recess 3 of the stop, formed with roundings 5, is connected to a corresponding groove 9 with roundings 10 on said lining. In this case, the side walls 6 of the stop "enclose" on the outer side the end faces of projections 8 of the lining installed inside recess 3 of the side stop.
[0071] The length of the straight section A along the short side of the projection 4 is made equal to 18 mm.
[0072] The length of the straight section B along the long side of the projection 4 is made equal to 22 mm.
[0073] The radius of rounding 5 of protrusion 4 on the lower surface 2 of the stop is made equal to 16±0.5 mm, including the boundary values.
