Description

[0001] The utility model relates to the field of construction and repair and is intended for use when wallpapering walls.

[0002] A similar device is known—a wallpaper paste applicator—RU 2360744, which comprises a base, and a sharp edge for cutting wallpaper to a specific length is located on the end of the base on the side opposite the wallpaper roll. A device for measuring the wallpaper length is mounted on the axis of the main roller.

[0003] The disadvantage of the analogue is the complexity of the design.

[0004] A similar device, wallpaper holder RU 154821, is used as a prototype. It features a plastic housing and removable end panels connected by a rotating roller. The end panels are grooved on the inside surface for connection to the front and rear panels of the housing.

[0005] Another drawback of the prototype is its bulky design, due to the size and weight of the wallpaper holder, which creates inconvenience both when working in small spaces, corners, and during transportation. A second drawback of the prototype is its inconvenience when pasting wallpaper of varying widths, as the design does not adapt to different wallpaper sizes.

[0006] The technical result of the utility model is to reduce the weight of the wallpaper holder.

[0007] The technical result is achieved in a wallpaper holder containing a plastic housing on which rollers are mounted with the possibility of rotation, located with the possibility of contact with the outer surface of a roll of wallpaper in several positions along the circumference of the cross-section of the roll, ensuring that the roll of wallpaper rests on them.

[0008] The wallpaper holder may include a handle located on the side of the rollers.

[0009] The wallpaper holder body may comprise a clamp having a contact surface in the form of an arc in cross-section, capable of enclosing a connecting element in the form of a pipe.

[0010] The body can be made with stiffening ribs that form internal cavities.

[0011] Fig. 1 shows a side view of the wallpaper holder.

[0012] Fig. 2 shows a side view of the wallpaper holder with a roll of wallpaper installed.

[0013] Fig. 3 shows an isometric view of the wallpaper holder.

[0014] Fig. 4 shows a top view of the arrangement of the wallpaper holders during use.

[0015] The wallpaper holder comprises a housing 1 made of plastic, as shown in Fig. 1, wherein the housing 1 is made with stiffening ribs 2, forming internal cavities 3, rollers 4 are fixed to the housing 1, which are placed with the possibility of contact with the outer surface 5 of a roll of wallpaper 6, as shown in Fig. 2, in several positions 7, 8, 9 along the circumference 10 of the cross-section of the roll of wallpaper, ensuring that the roll of wallpaper 6 rests on them and keeps it from shifting in the transverse direction 11, wherein the width b of the housing is from 30 to 200 mm.

[0016] The wallpaper holder may comprise a handle 12 located laterally relative to the rollers 4. The body 1 of the wallpaper holder may comprise a clamp 13 having a contact surface 14 in the form of an arc in cross-section, capable of embracing a connecting element in the form of a pipe.

[0017] Let's consider an example of a wallpaper holder. Housing 1 is made of plastic using injection molding of ABS plastic or polyamide. The housing can be 3D printed from ABS plastic or other plastics with similar mechanical strength and manufacturing processability. Plastic allows for low weight and compact dimensions due to the strength and rigidity of the material. Housing 1 is constructed with stiffening ribs 2 that form internal cavities 3, providing the structure with the necessary rigidity for its functionality while maintaining low weight. The housing may not have ribs forming internal cavities, but rather have a shell-like structure or be monolithic. In the latter case, the weight will be slightly higher. Rollers 4, made of injection molded plastic or 3D printed, are mounted on housing 1. They are mounted so that they can rotate.Rollers 4 reduce the effort required to unwind the wallpaper roll by reducing friction. Their presence eliminates the need for a longitudinal roller, as in the prototype. This allows for flexible adjustment of the device to different wallpaper widths by installing wallpaper holders 15 at different distances L. The number of rollers in the example embodiment shown in Figures 1, 2, and 3 is eight: two of them are not in contact with the wallpaper roll at the beginning of use, when the roll has its initial diameter, as can be seen in Figure 2. They come into contact when the roll decreases in diameter as the wallpaper is used. The number of rollers can be six if they are used in pairs, as in the example embodiment, or three if one roller is used in positions 7, 8, and 9.The shape of the housing 1 is such that its width is smaller than the width of the wallpaper roll, allowing two holders to be installed at the required distance L to support the roll. This makes the holder, and even a set of two holders, lighter than the prototype holder. In the example implementation, the width b = 60 mm. If the housing width b is less than 30 mm, it becomes unstable and cannot be used for its intended purpose. Furthermore, it is impossible to install rollers of the required width to reduce friction and the unwinding force of the roll. If the width b of the housing is greater than 200 mm, its weight and dimensions, together with the second housing, which must be used in the set, become equal to or exceed those of the prototype device, and in this case, the advantage of reduced weight and dimensions is not achieved.

[0018] The wallpaper holder comprises a handle 12, located laterally relative to the rollers 4, which is made in one piece with the housing 1. In the embodiment example, the housing 1 of the wallpaper holder comprises two clamps 13, having a contact surface 14 in the form of an arc in cross-section, capable of embracing a connecting element in the form of a pipe 16.

[0019] Let's consider an example of using a wallpaper holder. A wallpaper holder is used for wallpapering. For this, two wallpaper holders 15 are placed with their supporting surface 17 on the floor. They are spaced at a distance L from each other, as shown in Fig. 4. Optionally, they can be connected with connectors 16 in the form of pipes, which are inserted into clamps 13. A roll of wallpaper 6 is placed on the wallpaper holders, as shown in Fig. 4, 2. The roll is unrolled by the end that is placed against the wall. During unrolling, the roll rotates on rollers 4, which reduces friction and unwinding force. Handle 12 is used to rearrange the holders, sometimes together with the roll, therefore the handle is located to the side so that the roll does not interfere with its handling.

Claims
