Description

[0001] The utility model relates to the field of storing and carrying ammunition for firearms.

[0002] Users of firearms with minimal or no magazines, particularly shotguns, need to carry extra ammunition while in the field or at the range. There are many types of ammunition pouches and dispensers designed to carry small quantities of individual cartridges, including pouches and bandoliers. Other types of ammunition pouches mimic the appearance of box magazines but operate using gravity and feed the cartridges via a follower and spring.

[0003] A cartridge cartridge is described in Russian Patent No. 2633017 C2 (published October 11, 2017) for an invention. The cartridge cartridge is a resilient bar with half-holes along its length, in which cartridges are placed close to each other in a single row and held by the case neck. The diameter of the half-holes is slightly smaller than the case neck diameter. The cartridge wall thickness must not exceed the cartridge's dimensions and must be less than the difference in the case and bullet radii.

[0004] The open design of such a cartridge requires additional means to isolate the cartridge from environmental influences and to counteract accidental impact loads.

[0005] Spanish Patent No. 244607 U (published November 1, 1979) discloses a container, including one for storing cartridges, consisting of a single-piece molded body, the material of which possesses sufficient elasticity and flexibility, comprising two rectangular elements arranged to serve as a box and a lid, respectively. The elements are connected to one another by means of a hinged projection of the same material, which, due to its flexibility, allows and directs the rotation of one element relative to the other between the open and closed positions. The first of these elements has a series of internal partitions that intersect perpendicularly, forming a sequence of equal compartments, and is provided with a peripheral rim, parallel and close to the upper edge, on which, in the closed position, the free edge of the second element, serving as a lid, rests. This rim is provided opposite the hinge protrusion with at least one protruding central protrusion capable of certain elastic deformations. Opposite the central protrusion of the box, a rectangular protrusion is cast into the lid in a single piece, in the form of a latch with a protrusion on the inner side, positioned so as to interact with the central protrusion of the rim.

[0006] Despite the belt attachment, this design is inconvenient for carrying with the user on their equipment. Removing cartridges is also inconvenient, as the latch must first be released and the cover folded back.

[0007] A device for dispensing ammunition is known from U.S. Patent No. 3,219,244A (published November 23, 1965). The device is attached to the user's belt, pocket, or other ammunition and holds six cartridges in a vertical stack for convenient one-by-one removal from the bottom. The device includes a cartridge housing with an outlet at the bottom and elastic elements to hold the cartridges in place. The housing is provided with notches or recesses at the corners to receive the rims of shotgun shells, so that the cartridges are neatly stacked and positioned horizontally. This allows the cartridges to slide easily downward in the dispenser as the lower cartridges are removed. The recesses at the corners of the housing prevent the cartridges from getting stuck, so they will not shift downward unnecessarily. The device includes a lid that can be snapped into place to prevent cartridges from falling out of the top.The body also has a transparent viewing window, allowing you to easily check the number of rounds remaining in it.

[0008] The described device for feeding ammunition is functional only in a vertical position, while when the user is in a lying position and the device is in a horizontal orientation, removing cartridges from it is difficult.

[0009] The closest solution taken as a prototype is US Patent No. US 9453695 B2 (published September 27, 2016), which describes a container for feeding ammunition.

[0010] The container includes an elongated tubular body with opposite first and second ends, forming a storage chamber having an opening at the first end for receiving and dispensing ammunition, and a feeder located in the chamber and capable of reciprocating movement between the first and second ends. The feeder is spring-loaded toward the first end and can rotate relative to the body, so that the feeder can support a different number of conical elements of ammunition. Elongated channels are formed in the body, and the feeder includes protruding rotary elements located within the channels. The channels have an end portion adjacent to the first end, such that the movement of the feeder toward the first end is limited by the end portions of the channels.

[0011] The upper part of the housing forms an opening communicating with an internal storage chamber bounded by the left side, right side, front, and rear. Two flexible semi-cylindrical stops, separated by a rear gap, form gaps relative to the upper edge of the housing. The rear gap is 1 inch wide, allowing an adult's finger to pass between the flexible stops. The gaps between the upper edge of the housing and the flexible stops are 3 / 4 inch wide when unbent. The gaps have a predetermined first width when the flexible stops are unbent, and a larger predetermined second width when the flexible stops are bent due to the application of force. Force is applied to the flexible stops through the feeder, pressing the upper element of the ammunition upward and forward so that the outer surface of the upper element of the ammunition contacts the flexible stops. The upper element of the ammunition has a width equal to the specified second width of the flexible stops in the bent position. As a result, the upper element of the ammunition can be extracted through the gaps between the upper edge of the housing and the flexible stops only by deliberately applying force, and the upper element of the ammunition is retained against unintentional extraction.

[0012] The technical problem with the described ammunition feed container is its lack of reliability. When stored in the field, dirt, sand, and other foreign objects can enter the container's storage chamber, which lacks a high degree of protection. These foreign objects clog the elongated channels through which the protruding rotating elements of the feeder move. As a result, the feeder's movement and / or rotation within the elongated channels can be blocked, and ammunition feed can be interrupted.

[0013] The specified technical problem in a portable device for storing and automatically feeding ammunition, containing an elongated tubular body with opposite first and second ends, forming a storage chamber having an opening at the first end, intended for receiving and feeding ammunition, and a feeder, spring-loaded relative to the second end, placed in the chamber with the ability to perform a reciprocating movement between the first and second ends of the body in the direction of two flexible semi-cylindrical stops installed on the first end of the body, separated by a rear gap, forming gaps relative to the upper edge of the first end of the body, is solved in that the body is made consisting of two U-shaped halves in cross-section, facing each other with open cavities, connected to each other by connecting strips, each of which is provided on both sides with several pairs of hooks with protrusions installed perpendicular to the plane of the hooks, facing in pairs in different directions and interacting with the cutouts of the locking grooves formed on the outer surfaces of the edges of the U-shaped halves of the body, when installing the hooks in the locking grooves, wherein at least part of the inner surface of each connecting strip is located in the same plane with the adjacent surfaces of the U-shaped halves of the body.

[0014] The second end of the housing is preferably formed with a groove formed on the housing halves and connecting strips, interacting with guide projections on the cover, which has a central opening containing a locking protrusion of a stopper installed within the housing cavity. The stopper is typically configured with a conical element extending into the housing cavity and interacting with the first end of a spring, the second end of which is installed in a U-shaped feeder.

[0015] The technical result of the utility model is to increase the reliability of the design of a portable device for storing and automatically feeding ammunition.

[0016] The presented set of features, when compared to the prior art, allows us to conclude that the claimed technical solution meets the criterion of "novelty." At the same time, the claimed technical solution is applicable in the design of portable devices for storing and feeding ammunition, therefore it meets the criterion of "industrial applicability."

[0017] The claimed utility model is shown in the following figures:

[0018] Fig. 1 - isometric front view of a portable device for storing and automatically feeding ammunition.

[0019] Fig. 2 - exploded view of a portable device for storing and automatically feeding ammunition.

[0023] Fig. 6a, 6b - device for feeding ammunition: 6a - top view; 6b - bottom view.

[0024] A portable device for storing and automatically feeding ammunition comprises an elongated tubular body 1 with opposite first and second ends 2, 3, forming a storage chamber having an opening 4 at the first end 2, intended for receiving and feeding ammunition 5. In the body 1, a feeder 6 is installed, spring-loaded relative to its second end 3, placed in the chamber with the possibility of performing a reciprocating movement between the first and second ends 2, 3 of the body 1 in the direction of two flexible semi-cylindrical stops 8, 9 installed on the first end 2 of the body 1, separated by a rear gap 7, forming gaps 10, 11 relative to the upper edge 12 of the first end 2 of the body 1. The body 1 is made consisting of two U-shaped halves 13, 14 in cross-section, facing each other with open cavities, connected to each other by connecting strips 15.Each strip 15 is provided on both sides with several pairs of hooks 16 with projections 17 installed perpendicular to the plane of the hooks 16 facing in pairs in different directions. The projections 17 interact with the cutouts 18 of the locking grooves 19 formed on the outer surfaces of the edges of the U-shaped halves 13, 14 of the body 1, when the hooks 16 are installed in the locking grooves 19. At least a part of the inner surface of each connecting strip 15 is located in the same plane with the adjacent surfaces of the U-shaped halves 13, 14 of the body 1.

[0025] The second end 3 of the housing 1 is preferably made to contain a groove 20 formed on the halves 13, 14 of the housing 1 and the connecting strips 15, interacting with the guide projections 21 on the cover 22, closing the cavity of the housing 1 from the second end 3. In the central zone of the cover 22, as a rule, a central opening 23 is formed with a locking projection 24 of a stopper 25 located in it, installed in the cavity of the housing 1.

[0026] The stopper 25 is made predominantly with a conical element 26 extending into the cavity of the housing 1 and interacting with the first end of the spring 27, the second end of which is installed in the U-shaped feeder 6.

[0027] When assembling the device for storing and carrying ammunition for firearms, the U-shaped halves 13, 14 of the body 1 are connected to each other by connecting strips 15, while inserting the hooks 16 of the strips 15 into the locking grooves 19 of the halves 13, 14 of the body 1 until the projections 17 are installed in the cutouts 18 of the locking grooves 19. Next, from the second end 3 of the body 1, the feeder 6 and the spring 27, fixed on the conical element 26 of the stopper 25, are inserted into its cavity. Then, the cover 22 is installed in the groove 20 of the second end 3 of the body 1 with the guide projections 21 until the locking projection 24 of the stopper 25 comes out under the pressure of the spring 27 into the central opening 23 of the cover 22.

[0028] Ammunition 5 is loaded into the cavity of the housing 1 and unloaded through gaps 10, 11 between two flexible semi-cylindrical stops 8, 9 and the upper edge 12 of the first end 2 of the housing 1, bending the stops 8, 9 with force by the housing of the ammunition 5. Using the rear gap 7 between the two semi-cylindrical stops 8, 9 during loading, the feeder 6 or the loaded ammunition 5 is depressed against the action of the spring 27 to prepare a place for the next ammunition. Using the same gap 7, the ammunition is removed from the cavity of the housing 1, overcoming the force of the flexible semi-cylindrical stops 8, 9.

[0029] Feeder 6 moves freely in the cavity of housing 1, without any obstacles, even if some dirt, sand, or other foreign objects get into the cavity of housing 1 of the device, which confirms the reliability of the portable device for storing and automatically feeding ammunition.

[0030] It should be noted that the above-mentioned embodiments illustrate, rather than limit, the utility model, and that those skilled in the art will be able to develop many alternative embodiments without departing from the scope of the given claims. The mere fact that certain criteria are listed in mutually different dependent claims of the utility model does not indicate that a combination of these criteria cannot be used to achieve a beneficial effect.
