Abstract

This utility model pertains to sports equipment, specifically to devices for practicing billiards striking technique. The training device comprises a hollow 6 mm thick plywood frame with an open front panel. Inside the frame, three rectangular recesses are provided on an inclined base for placing three damping billiard balls. The balls are installed with a gap of 3-5 mm to allow for longitudinal upward movement along the slope upon impact. Foamed polyethylene dampers are attached to the side walls. The frame lid is equipped with three mounting holes for additional weighted balls. The unladen weight of the training device is up to 2.5 kg, with a shipping weight of 500-600 g. The technical result consists of ensuring portability and increasing the accuracy of low-force impact absorption (up to 2.5 cushions) due to a combined damping system of an inclined surface and limited ball travel in rectangular recesses.

Description

[0001] Field of technology to which the utility model belongs

[0002] The utility model relates to the field of sports games, namely to auxiliary devices for training billiards playing techniques, and is intended for practicing the technical element of “rolling one’s own ball” (an effective strike with “one’s own” ball with little force).

[0003] Technology Level

[0004] A billiards simulator known from the prior art is patent RU 2583769 C1, comprising a base, an inclined ball return platform, and a damping element in the form of sandbags. The prototype has the following disadvantages:

[0005] its significant own weight (5-7 kg);

[0006] Low wear resistance of the damping element. Since the bags are subject to repeated mechanical stress, the fabric covering wears out over time, leading to the filling leaking and the failure of the exercise machine;

[0007] Difficulty in restoring functionality. Replacing or repairing sandbags at home is difficult for the user due to the need to select an identical shell material and precisely dose the loose filler to maintain the damping balance. Sandbags are not a standard billiard accessory and are not readily available.

[0008] Disclosure of the essence of the utility model

[0009] The objective of the claimed utility model is to eliminate the aforementioned shortcomings, namely: increasing the wear resistance and maintainability of the damping unit while simultaneously reducing the transport weight of the device.

[0010] The technical result is achieved by replacing the consumable damper (sand bags) with a replaceable damper made from standard billiard balls, which are not subject to abrasion under impact loads within the declared range of forces (up to 2.5 cushions) and are an easily replaceable element, always available at the place of operation of the simulator (billiard club), as well as by making three rectangular cutouts-guides in the inclined base, giving the damper balls a strictly longitudinal working stroke of 3-5 mm.

[0011] Brief description of drawings

[0012] Fig. 1 - General view of the simulator.

[0013] Implementation of a utility model

[0014] The billiard simulator consists of a hollow body made of sheet material, preferably 6 mm thick plywood. The overall dimensions of the body are: length 200 mm, width 190 mm, height 110 mm.

[0015] The front side of the case is open (no sidewall). Attached to the bottom of the case at an angle of 2-5 degrees toward the front is a platform with three rectangular cutouts. Two cutouts are located at the front of the platform, and one at the rear. The dimensions of each rectangular cutout exceed the diameter of the billiard ball by 3-5 mm in the longitudinal direction, forming a guide channel with limited free play.

[0016] Three billiard balls are installed in the designated cutouts, acting as dampers. When the object ball hits the two front balls, they move up the inclined platform by 3-5 mm, after which they transfer momentum to the rear ball, which also moves within its cutout. After dissipating the energy, the balls spontaneously roll back to their original lower position due to the inclined platform.

[0017] To provide residual damping of lateral vibrations and prevent knocking against the body walls, 8-10 mm thick foamed polyethylene is glued to the inner surfaces of the side walls.

[0018] The housing cover is equipped with three mounting holes with a diameter of 50-55 mm, designed for installing additional weight balls in order to increase the equipped weight of the simulator to 2.5 kg.

[0019] Attached to the front of the body is an inclined object ball return platform made of flexible material (PET) 0.5-1 mm thick. The platform's trailing edge is fixed at a height of 6-8 mm from the table's playing surface, while the front edge rests on the felt. A cutout for placing the object ball is provided in the front of the platform, and a restrictive border 8-10 mm high is provided along the edge of the platform.

[0020] The trainer is equipped with an anti-friction microfiber pad placed between the bottom surface of the frame and the felt. The bottom surface of the frame has natural micro-roughness, ensuring reliable adhesion to the microfiber pile and preventing the trainer from shifting when performing strikes with a force of up to 2.5 times the width of the frame.

[0021] The essence of the utility model is explained by the drawing, where Fig. 1 shows a simulator for playing billiards.

[0022] The device consists of an anti-friction fabric lining 1, a housing 2, an inclined platform with cutouts for dampers (balls) 3, foamed polyethylene 4, a cover with holes for balls (weights) 5, an inclined platform for returning the target ball with clamps 6 and a cutout 7, a limiting curb 8.
