Abstract
Description
[0001] Technical field
[0002] The utility model relates to devices for amateur and sport fishing, namely to artificial baits for catching pike perch.
[0003] The state of the art and disadvantages of known designs
[0004] Conventional artificial lures typically have a body or metal casing, a line attachment, a hook, weights, and hydrodynamic elements. As depth, current, vegetation, retrieve speed, and fish activity change, the user is forced to change the lure, add external elements, or accept the loss of a stable action. The disadvantage of such designs is a narrow operating range and limited ability to adjust the mechanical behavior of the lure itself.
[0005] Technical task
[0006] The technical challenge is to adjust the falling nature of a vertical spoon without changing the external shape and without replacing the bait.
[0007] Technical result
[0008] The technical result is that a fast vertical fall, balanced shedding or lateral gliding in one body is achieved, improving retention at the bottom and in the current.
[0009] The essence of the design
[0010] This result is achieved by the product's elongated body, head, center, and tail mounting sockets, an adjustable weight, a locking plate, an elastic gasket, a flat planing edge, a line attachment point, and a tail hook. The relative positioning of these elements ensures the lure's mechanical operation in the water flow and maintains its usability in conventional fishing tackle.
[0011] Design and Operation Description
[0012] This spoon is designed for zander fishing and functions as a standalone device, with its technical performance determined by the relative positioning and shape of its components. The design includes an elongated body, head, center, and tail landing sockets, an adjustable weight, a locking plate, an elastic gasket, a flat gliding edge, a line attachment point, and a tail hook. This configuration allows for the adjustment of the vertical spoon's fall pattern without altering its external shape or changing the lure. The product requires no electronic units, depth calculators, line tension control, or a separate lure release device, as the operating behavior is generated within the body of the lure itself.
[0013] The basic mechanics of operation are as follows: shifting the weight shifts the center of gravity toward the head, middle, or tail, thereby changing the turn, fall speed, and lateral movement after the cast. The oncoming water flow, the weight of the hull, the center of gravity, and the resistance of individual surfaces create forces that either bring the lure to its working level, stabilize it, or generate oscillations and vibrations. The angler only uses the standard line and retrieve. The internal and external elements absorb the variable loads from the current, the cast, the pause, and the contact with grass, rocks, or the bottom, and then return the lure to its normal position.
[0014] Before use, a simple mechanical adjustment is performed: in running water, the weight is placed in the head slot, in still water and when the fish are passive, it is placed in the tail slot, and the universal mode is set in the center slot. The adjustment does not change the external principle of the rig and does not require additional leader equipment. The user selects the mode before casting or before starting the retrieve, after which all interaction occurs between the lure components and the water. This is important for fishing from a boat and from the shore, since there is no need to completely change the rig when moving from shallow water to a drop-off, from still water to a current, or from active fish to passive ones.
[0015] The structural elements withstand impacts, shocks, and dirt. The body is made of brass, nickel silver, or coated lead alloy, the weights are made of materials of varying densities, and the base plate is stainless steel. The parts that absorb the force of the fish are separated from the fine adjustment or acoustic elements. The load from the hooks and split rings is transmitted by reinforced sections of the body, brackets, bridges, or metal bushings. Surfaces that come into contact with water are smooth, with rounded edges, or with guide ribs to prevent accidental snags and prevent disruption of the lure's action.
[0016] When fishing for pike, the design must maintain a noticeable swing, navigate close to grass, and withstand sharp lateral attacks. When fishing for zander, a stable position near the bottom, a controlled fall, and moderate resistance are essential. For catfish, the lure's heavy weight, deep water, turbid water, and strong jerking force are all important considerations. Therefore, the dimensions, wall thickness, weight of the weights, the rigidity of the elastic elements, and the shape of the hydrodynamic surfaces can vary for different sizes, while maintaining the overall design of the device.
[0017] The achieved technical result is expressed as a rapid vertical fall, balanced fall, or lateral glide in a single body, along with improved bottom and current hold. This result arises not from the fishing technique, but from the design. If the lure moves smoothly, the parts provide a stable motion. If a pause or a toss occurs, the internal weights, chambers, keels, ribs, or protective elements switch to a different mode and modify the behavior of the body. If the current approaches from the side or the speed changes, the stabilizing surfaces create a restoring moment and reduce the likelihood of uncontrolled rotation or capsizing.
[0018] Several sizes and weights are available. For small lures, the travel of the moving parts and the area of the stabilizers are reduced, while for larger lures, the strength sections are reinforced and more wear-resistant materials are used. Finishes can be polished, matte, phosphorescent, or painted to match the bait. Hooks are installed via split rings or hinged elements. The design allows for user maintenance: cleaning, replacement of replaceable parts, visual inspection of the locking mechanism, and drying after fishing.

[0027] Brief description of drawings
[0028] Vertical zander spoon with adjustable internal weight
[0029] Fig. 1 - vertical spoon with internal sockets and adjustable weight.
[0030] Designation Element name 1 upper suspension ring 2 body of a vertical spoon 3 internal cavity with nests 4 upper landing socket 5 relocatable load 6 lower landing socket 7 lower treble hook
[0031] Figure 1 shows a vertical zander spoon with an adjustable internal weight. The body 2 is elongated, relatively narrow, and suitable for vertical presentation of the bait from a boat, ice, or with a stepped rise and fall. The upper portion contains a suspension ring 1, through which the spoon is connected to the fishing line. A treble hook 7 is installed in the lower portion.
[0032] The body 2 contains a cavity 3 with several mounting slots. The figure shows the upper slot 4, the central area with the installed weight 5, and the lower slot 6. The weight 5 is removable and can be moved between the slots. This change in the weight's position alters the lure's center of gravity and affects its trajectory after the cast.
[0033] When weight 5 is positioned closer to the top, the spoon will glide more strongly during release and may drift away from the vertical. When the weight is positioned in the middle zone, the movement becomes more balanced, with a moderate deflection. When the weight is positioned closer to the bottom slot 6, the spoon will quickly reach the vertical position, drop more sharply, and create a short, high-amplitude action. This setting is useful for changing depth, current, and zander activity.
[0034] Body 2 may have one flat, planar face and an opposite, more convex face. This allows for transverse displacement during a fall. Internal cavity 3 is closed by a lid, insert, or rolled plate, not shown separately but implied by the design. Sockets 4 and 6 may have latches, stops, or screw locks to prevent inadvertent movement of load 5.
[0035] This figure reveals the technical meaning of shifting the weight as a mechanical adjustment of the fishing mode. A single spoon can function as a gliding, balancing, or fast-falling vertical lure. This allows it to be adapted to zander fishing at different depths without changing the body, hook, or external shape of the lure.
[0036] Industrial applicability
[0037] This product can be mass-produced using casting, stamping, bending, machining, welding, soldering, adhesive assembly, application of protective and decorative coatings, installation of hooks, split rings, and packaging of replacement parts. The design is suitable for several sizes, depending on the tackle weight, water depth, current strength, and target fish species.
