Description

[0001] The utility model relates to means for keeping pets, in particular to devices for collecting and disposing of cat excrement in residential premises, and can be used as a hygienic toilet.

[0002] Standard cat litter boxes are essentially trays filled with replaceable litter, and they have a lot of disadvantages.

[0003] Pet owners are required to pour the filler from the bag into the tray and back, which causes unpleasant odors and dust, as well as washing the tray.

[0004] Many cats typically develop a preference for a particular type and scent of cat litter while still kittens. Some cats adapt to a change in litter type without issue, while others may feel uncomfortable using a type of litter they didn't use as kittens.

[0005] A self-cleaning cat litter box is known from US Patent 6,082,302 (published July 4, 2000). It contains a comb and a mat for removing waste from the tray. A sensor detects when the tray is full. The tray can be cleaned automatically or manually. The tray is removable and can be disposable. The tray consists of an upper working container, covered by a casing at the bottom, and underneath are trays with pull-out sections containing a section with litter and a section for used litter.

[0006] The disadvantage of this alternative is the technical complexity of its design, and therefore its high cost. Although it features a one-time pull-out tray from the bottom tray, the device contains sensors, bottom tray extension mechanisms, and an electric motor. It requires electricity. Therefore, this alternative is not self-contained and cannot be used in locations remote from power sources.

[0007] A common drawback of such well-known analogues is that the used tray must be carried to the garbage container in a strictly horizontal position to avoid leakage while you are on the go.

[0008] Basically, cat litter trays have gained popularity. They consist of a tray (body) and a removable grate or internal container for filler.

[0009] For example, the design of a tray (RU 153024 U, published 06 / 27 / 2015) can be considered as an analogue, including an outer casing and two removable sections, where the upper section is a grate, and the lower section is a container for filler.

[0010] The disadvantages of such well-known designs are:

[0011] the need for complete disassembly and washing of the entire device during maintenance, which is unhygienic and labor-intensive;

[0012] penetration of urine and filler particles onto the inner surfaces of the outer casing, which leads to the need for regular cleaning and the proliferation of bacteria;

[0013] The lack of effective means to localize the unpleasant odor in the device itself, causing the odor to spread throughout the room.

[0014] The objective of this utility model is to create a cat litter box that improves hygiene, simplifies maintenance, and effectively eliminates unpleasant odors.

[0015] The technical result of the utility model is expressed in the reduction of odors from the tray due to the use of a removable adsorbent cartridge and section guides; in the ability to wash sections separately without the need to wash the outer casing of the tray, which remains protected from contamination, thanks to a modular design with handles; in increasing the ease of maintenance.

[0016] The stated objective and technical result are achieved due to the fact that a litter tray for cats is declared, comprising an outer body with sides and two removable sections, where the upper section is a tray with a grate, and the lower section is a tray for absorbent filler, characterized in that:

[0017] guides for installation of two removable sections on the end side are provided on the inner walls of the housing;

[0018] The lower section has parallel projections along the sides and the back wall on the inside, the space between which forms a groove for installing a removable adsorbent cartridge;

[0019] Each removable section has a front wall with a handle.

[0020] Additional features characterizing the utility model in particular cases of its implementation are given in the dependent claims of the formula.

[0021] The presence of the specified distinctive features ensures:

[0022] Odor localization by an adsorbent cartridge directly in the lower section;

[0023] Easy to remove each section by the handles without getting your hands dirty;

[0024] Protects the body from contact with waste, as the guides and handles allow you to carefully remove the sections.

[0025] The combination of these features is new and sufficient to achieve the stated technical result.

[0068] 31 - Bottom of the lower section.

[0069] The essence of the utility model is as follows.

[0070] The cat litter tray (see general view in the drawings) consists of an outer body with guides on the inner walls for installing two removable sections on the end side.

[0071] The upper section is a tray with a lattice bottom.

[0072] The lower section is a tray for filling with absorbent filler (eg clumping silica gel, bentonite).

[0073] Key distinguishing features of the utility model:

[0074] Guide system. Guides are provided on the inner walls of the housing for installing two removable sections on the end face. This ensures precise installation and locking of the sections.

[0075] Adsorbent filter. The sides and rear wall of the lower section are lined with parallel projections on the inside. The space between them forms a longitudinal groove into which a removable adsorbent cartridge fits tightly. This absorbs gases and unpleasant odors emanating from the filler. Activated carbon, aluminum oxide, silicon oxide, and zeolites can be used as adsorbents. Additionally, in addition to adsorbents, absorbents can be added to the cartridge, which absorb harmful substances and retain them within their structure. Examples include ion-exchange resins, complexing sorbents, and catalysts (sorbents that accelerate the breakdown of toxic substances into harmless compounds).

[0076] Ergonomic and clean design. Each section has a front panel with a handle in the form of a deep groove for a comfortable grip. This allows you to remove sections without touching dirty surfaces.

[0077] Additional structural elements (a side along the perimeter of the bottom of the upper section, longitudinal protrusions on the bottom of the lower section, widening of the hull) contribute to further sealing and protection of the hull, but it is the combination of features of the independent claim that provides the main technical result.

[0078] The technical result of the utility model is expressed in:

[0079] Reduces odors from the tray by using a removable adsorbent cartridge in the bottom section and guides that ensure tight installation of the sections;

[0080] the ability to wash sections separately thanks to their modular design, detachability and the presence of handles, without the need to wash the outer body of the tray, which remains protected from contamination;

[0081] increased ease of maintenance due to the presence of handles-recesses and guides for easy removal of sections.

[0082] Implementation of a utility model

[0083] The litter tray for cats (see general view in drawings Figs. 1-10) consists of an outer body 1, having guides on the inner walls 17 and the bottom 18 for installing two removable sections 2, 3 on the end side.

[0084] The upper section 2 is a tray with a lattice bottom 5.

[0085] The bottom section 3 is a tray for filling absorbent filler (such as clumping silica gel, bentonite).

[0086] Guides for installing two removable sections 2, 3 on the end faces are provided on the inner walls of the housing 1. In the preferred embodiment, guides 13 for the upper section 2 are provided on the inner side along the side 17 and rear 27 walls of the housing 1, while longitudinal grooves 16 on the inner side of the bottom 18 of the housing 1 and a flat base 15 of the side 4 of the upper section on the lower side along the perimeter of its bottom serve as guides for the lower section 3. However, the very presence of guides for both sections, ensuring their stable position, is essential.

[0087] The presence of an adsorbent filter, packed in a cartridge 28 (see Fig. 10). On the sides and the rear wall 20 of the lower section 3, on the inside, parallel projections 23 are made. The space between them forms a longitudinal groove 24 (see Fig. 9), into which a removable cartridge 28 with an adsorbent is tightly installed (see Fig. 10). This ensures the absorption of gases and unpleasant odors emanating from the filler.

[0088] Each section 2 and 3 has a front wall 6 and 9, respectively, with handles 8 and 11, respectively, in the form of a deep recess for comfortable grip with fingers.

[0089] Additionally, in preferred embodiments: in the upper section 2, on the lower side along the perimeter of its bottom, a side 4 is made; in the lower section 3, on the bottom 31, longitudinal projections 19 are made, entering into grooves 16 on the bottom 18 of the housing 1; the housing 1 in the upper part has a widening 21 at the front wall with a flat base at the bottom.

[0090] The toilet tray is used as follows.

[0091] For assembly into the assembled state (Fig. 1), the lower section 3 is installed in the housing 1, and in the preferred embodiment - with longitudinal projections 19 along guides in the form of longitudinal grooves 16 on its bottom 18. A carbon cartridge 28 is inserted into the groove 24 formed by parallel projections 23 (see Fig. 10). Then, the upper section 2 is installed in the guides 13 on the walls 17 and 27 of the housing 1. Filler is poured into the lower section 3.

[0092] During maintenance, the user grabs handles 8 or 11 and pulls out the section 2 or 3 needed for cleaning or washing.

[0093] Solid waste from grate 5 is flushed into the toilet, after which section 2 is removed and washed. When the litter needs to be replaced, the lower section 3 is removed. The used litter is disposed of, section 3 is washed, and carbon cartridge 28 is replaced if necessary.

[0094] Body 1 remains uncontaminated and requires no cleaning. After cleaning, sections 2 and 3 are reinstalled.

[0095] Odor reduction is achieved by adsorbing odors with the carbon filter of the cartridge 28, located in close proximity to the odor source (filler), as well as by tightly fitting the elements of the sections and the body to each other, which is ensured by a system of guides.

[0096] Separate washing of sections is made possible by the presence of handles and their complete removal, as well as a guide system.

[0097] This design is easy to manufacture, reliable in operation and solves the problems of improving the hygiene and ease of maintenance of the cat toilet.
