FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in preparing soil for strip sowing of melon crops cultivated with furrow irrigation. The method involves forming four equal parts across the width of the sowing zone. The primary tillage of the soil in the two outer parts is carried out by turning the layers in different directions from the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the implement, strip subsoil loosening of the bottom of the cultivated strips, minimal mouldboard tillage of the middle parts of the sowing zone with their movement into different open furrows formed in the outer parts of the sowing zone, displacement of part of the soil from the side strips outside the sowing zone back to the outer parts of the sowing zone and the formation of an irrigation furrow. Before pre-sowing cultivation of the middle parts of the sowing zone, slitting is performed between the middle layers along the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the tool to the depth of pre-sowing cultivation.
