AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for producing decorative emblems require separate facilities for die casting and chrome plating, necessitating different skill sets and posing logistical challenges, environmental hazards, and high costs due to expensive molds.

Method used

A method involving a multilayer film of transparent, decorative, and support layers, thermoformed to create recesses, filled with a curable polymer, and processed without die casting or chrome plating, allowing single-site production and flexible application to curved surfaces.

Benefits of technology

Enables cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and flexible production of decorative elements suitable for various surfaces without the need for specialized skills or hazardous chemicals, suitable for both small and large-scale manufacturing.

Abstract

FIELD: producing decorative elements.SUBSTANCE: method comprising the steps of: thermoforming a multilayer film (10) consisting of a first transparent protective layer (12), a second decorative layer (14) containing at least one pigment, and a third support layer (16) made of a thermoformable plastic material; wherein said cover sheet (32) is a film with an adhesive layer or a double-sided layer, or a removable semi-rigid protective film; wherein at said application step, pressure is applied to the cover sheet (32), which is directed both perpendicularly and tangentially to the film (10); maintaining the polymer (30), previously poured and closed between the third layer (16) of the film (10) and the cover sheet (32), for hardening during the curing process and cutting the film (10) along the perimeter of the said at least one recess, thereby obtaining a layered decorative element containing a part of the said film, a layer of polymer and a part of the sheet.EFFECT: method for producing decorative elements is simplified.15 cl, 13 dwg
