AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for producing hot-rolled semi-finished products from aluminum-magnesium-manganese-zirconium-scandium alloys face limitations in technological plasticity due to restricted reductions per pass, leading to increased cycle times and costs.

Method used

Asymmetric rolling with controlled peripheral speed ratios and temperature conditions during the finishing pass to induce large shear deformations, creating a fragmented metal structure and enhancing process ductility.

Benefits of technology

This approach allows for a single-pass finish rolling with improved technological plasticity, reducing the cycle time and production costs by achieving a finer grain structure and lower hardness values.

Abstract

FIELD: metallurgy.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing hot-rolled semi-finished products from deformable aluminium alloys with scandium. Ingots are produced using the method of semi-continuous casting, two-stage homogenizing annealing, mechanical processing of ingots, heating them to a temperature of 400-440 °C, rough and finish rolling. Finish rolling is carried out in one pass at a temperature of 250-300 °C at the ratio of the circumferential speeds of the rollers: V2 / V1 = 1.1-1.3, where V2 is the peripheral speed of the lower roll, rpm, V1 is the peripheral speed of the upper roll, rpm. Single reduction during finish rolling is 50-65%.EFFECT: semi-finished products that have lower hardness to ensure their high technological plasticity.1 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl
