AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing catalytic cracking unit regenerators suffer from insufficient efficiency in catalyst regeneration due to non-uniform distribution of catalyst particles and oxidizer gas, leading to incomplete coke burning and reduced regeneration effectiveness.

Method used

A regenerator design with a vertical cylindrical partition dividing the fluidized bed into annular and circular zones, featuring specific arrangements of catalyst and oxidizer gas feeders, additional oxidizer gas supply, and distribution plates to ensure uniform distribution and increased temperature for complete coke burning.

Benefits of technology

The design achieves almost complete coke burning and effective catalyst regeneration by ensuring uniform interaction and increased temperature, resulting in improved regeneration efficiency.

Abstract

FIELD: chemical engineering.SUBSTANCE: used in reactor-regenerator units of installations primarily for catalytic cracking. The invention concerns a regenerator of a catalytic cracking unit, comprising a housing 1, a device for feeding coked catalyst particles 2, a device for feeding oxidizer gas 3 and 4, a device for unloading regenerated catalyst 5, a pipe for removing gaseous combustion products 6 from the housing 1, a device 7 for separating captured catalyst from gaseous combustion products, in the lower part of the housing 1 there is a zone of a fluidized catalyst bed, in which there is a vertical cylindrical partition 8, dividing the zone of the fluidized bed into an annular outer zone 9 of the fluidized bed and a circular inner zone 10 of the fluidized bed. In the lower part of the annular outer zone 9 of the fluidized bed, devices for feeding particles of coked catalyst 2 are installed in a circular array, and devices for feeding oxidizer gas 3 are located in the annular outer zone 9 of the fluidized bed, above the devices for feeding particles of coked catalyst 2, and devices for feeding oxidizer gas 4 are installed in the circular inner zone 10 of the fluidized bed, wherein in the center of it, an inner housing 11 is coaxially located with distribution plates 12 in its central part and an additional device for feeding oxidizer gas 13 in the lower part, wherein on the side surface of the inner housing 11, above the additional device for feeding oxidizer gas 13, windows 14 are made.EFFECT: consistent regeneration of coked catalyst.5 cl, 1 dwg
