Abstract
Description
[0001] Technical field
[0002] The invention relates to household electrical appliances, specifically hair styling devices such as straighteners, and concerns an improved hair straightening device featuring intelligent control of styling modes and automatic delivery of active care ingredients during thermal application. The invention can be used for personalized hair care aimed at minimizing hair damage during styling, improving hair condition, and personalizing hair care based on the user's hair characteristics.
[0003] The proposed device also belongs to the field of smart devices that integrate elements of sensor technology, data processing, and real-time control of personalized cosmetic procedures.
[0004] Prior Art
[0005] Heat styling devices such as electric straighteners are known to contain a housing, a pair of heated plates, and a temperature control system (see, for example, patents and products from Philips, Remington, and Dyson). Some designs incorporate movable structural elements or spring-loaded attachments that allow the plates to adapt to the thickness of the hair being treated, improving uniformity.
[0006] Some models contain coatings with conditioning ingredients, such as argan oil or keratin, applied to the surface of the plates. In particular, devices are known to use heat-sensitive microconditioners that release active ingredients when heated (e.g., Philips BHS507 / 40, Remington Advanced Coconut Therapy). However, an analysis of known technical solutions shows that they lack an integrated intelligent control system for the delivery of active ingredients, adapting their release based on hair parameters and current styling conditions.
[0007] It also lacks a modular or replaceable delivery system for various care formulas, nor does it feature targeted microcapsule activation mechanisms to customize the composition or dosage. Therefore, existing solutions fail to provide a personalized care approach during styling, intelligent dosing of active ingredients, or replacement and customization of the care formula based on the user's hair type. These shortcomings limit the effectiveness and safety of thermal styling, necessitating the development of an improved device that provides both straightening and personalized care based on hair characteristics.
[0008] The goal of the hair straightener developer is to develop a device that will improve the personalization of hair care, the dosed release of substances, the expansion of hair care functionality, and increase the durability of the device.
[0009] The technical result of the declared hair straightener is increased personalization of hair care, dosed release of substances, expansion of functional capabilities for hair care, and increased durability of the device.
[0010] Disclosure of invention
[0011] The essence of the invention is to develop a hair straightening device that provides not only thermal styling, but also personalized hair care during use by integrating an intelligent hair structure analysis system and a controlled active substance delivery system.
[0012] The device consists of a housing containing two heated tourmaline-coated plates, which are mounted to bend under the influence of a hair strand using a hinge or other flexible mechanism. The plates are equipped with sensors capable of determining hair strand parameters, including its thickness, moisture, and porosity. Based on this data, the control module adapts the device's operating parameters, including heating temperature, pressure, and the release mode of the active ingredients.
[0013] The active ingredients are contained in microcapsules embedded in the plate coating and / or in a separate replaceable cartridge built into the device's body. The microcapsules are activated when preset conditions—temperature, pressure, or ultrasound—are reached. This ensures controlled dosing and targeted delivery of beneficial ingredients to the hair's surface, significantly reducing excess evaporation and increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.
[0014] One implementation features a system of replaceable cartridges with various capsule formulations, including argan oil, keratin, vitamins, amino acids, plant extracts, and heat-protective agents. The user can select or load a suitable formula depending on the desired effect (restoration, hydration, nourishment, heat protection, etc.), and the control module controls the dosage and activation time depending on hair type and conditions of use.
[0015] The device interface can be implemented in the form of a touch panel, voice assistant or mobile application, which allows you to fine-tune care modes, monitor the condition of your hair and receive care recommendations.
[0016] Example of specific application of the invention
[0017] In one possible embodiment, the hair straightening device comprises an elongated body housing two heated plates mounted on a movable hinge. This hinge can be a flexible mechanism based on an elastomer material or a spring hinge, allowing the plates to bend longitudinally when compressing a strand of hair. This allows for even pressure distribution and improved contact with the hair along the entire length of the strand.
[0018] The heated plates are made of ceramic or metal-ceramic and feature a tourmaline coating, which provides ionic radiation and an antistatic effect. A built-in temperature sensor (e.g., a thermistor or IR sensor) is incorporated into the plates to continuously monitor the working surface temperature. Sensors can also be placed along the plates to determine the physical characteristics of the hair (humidity, dielectric properties, thickness). These sensors can be optical, capacitive, or based on measuring the resistance of the strand of hair when in contact with the sensor.
[0019] The device is powered by a built-in battery that supports wireless charging (e.g., Qi standard). The device is controlled by an integrated microcontroller (e.g., STM32 or ESP32), which is connected to a user interface (touch panel, LED indicator, or Bluetooth connection to a mobile app).
[0020] A unique feature of this device is its system for delivering active care ingredients directly to the hair contact area. The active ingredients are contained in microcapsules embedded in the tourmaline coating of the plates or supplied from a replaceable cartridge located within the device's body. These capsules can be microspheres made of gelatin, silica gel, lipid carriers, or other biocompatible polymers that are stable under normal storage conditions but degrade at a certain temperature (e.g., 130-150°C) or under the influence of ultrasound.
[0021] To activate the microcapsules, the device can be equipped with an ultrasonic emitter directed at the heating zone of the plates. Alternatively, the capsules are destroyed mechanically—by the pressure of a strand of hair between the plates or by needle-like microstructures embedded in the plate.
[0022] Depending on the design, the device may have a removable cartridge containing one or more chambers with different microcapsule compositions. For example:
[0023] • Chamber 1 - capsules with keratin and amino acids for restoration;
[0024] • Chamber 2 - capsules with argan oil and vitamin E for moisturizing;
[0025] • Chamber 3 - capsules with heat-protective polymers.
[0026] The cartridge can be connected to the plates via microchannels or a layer through which microcapsules are delivered to the heating area. The control system regulates capsule delivery based on hair analysis, styling mode, or user preferences, set manually or via a mobile app.
[0027] When turning on the device, the user selects the desired mode: "Restoration," "Moisturizing," "Nourishment," or "Thermal Protection." The control module analyzes the hair condition, calculates the temperature, pressure, and volume of released substances, activates the appropriate group of capsules, and adapts the device's operation.
[0028] For increased safety, the device is equipped with an automatic shutdown system in case of overheating, as well as a heating lock when there is no contact with hair.
[0029] This device not only straightens hair but also provides personalized care, automatically adapting to the individual user. Its design allows for both home and professional use.
[0030] Industrial applicability.
[0031] Thanks to an intelligent hair analysis system (humidity, porosity, and structure), the device automatically adapts the styling mode, including temperature and active ingredient dosage. This ensures the most effective and safe care tailored to the user's individual needs, allowing for a personalized hair care experience.
[0032] The use of microcapsules with active ingredients that are released only when certain conditions (temperature, pressure or ultrasound) are reached increases the precision and controllability of the delivery of care substances, which minimizes their excessive use and eliminates the risk of hair damage.
[0033] The introduction of a replaceable cartridge system with various active ingredients allows the user to tailor their care to their needs, choosing the appropriate composition for restoration, moisturizing, or thermal protection, which significantly expands the functionality of the hair care device and increases the durability of the device.
