Description

[0001] Technical field

[0002] The invention relates to medicine, namely to podiatry, and is used for the purpose of correcting ingrown and deformed nail plates (nails).

[0003] Technology Level

[0004] The closest device to the claimed correction method is the NASPAN device for correcting deformed and ingrown nails (https: / / naspan.de). The device is made of an elastic metal wire with an M-shaped element in the center that forms a spring, while the outer sections of this bend transition into lateral legs, which provide fixation to the nail by bending. When installing the device, it is compressed and secured to the nail, and the subsequent bending of the M-shaped element, which acts as a spring, ensures nail growth in the desired direction. A disadvantage of this device is that when the M-shaped element returns to its original position, a uniform force is applied between both the outer and central sections, caused by the rounded joints of the corners of the M-shaped element. This creates excessive force aimed at tearing the nail from the lateral edges, which often leads to injury, asThe lateral edges of the nail are always more vulnerable to tearing.

[0005] The problem that the claimed invention is aimed at solving is the creation of a device that allows for the reduction of the spring force that occurs closer to the edges of the nail in order to achieve such a technical result as reducing the trauma to the finger during the correction procedure.

[0006] Disclosure of invention

[0007] The technical result is achieved by a nail correction device consisting of a thin, elongated element made of an elastic material. The central portion of the element contains an M-shaped element that forms a spring, with the ends of the outer sections of the M-shaped element bent toward the lateral edges of the nail. According to the invention, the central sections of the M-shaped element are straight, while the outer sections, when the spring element is in its free position, point toward the central corner of the M-shaped element.

[0008] At least on one extreme section of the M-shaped element, closer to the junction of the extreme and central sections, a rounded bend or a bend forming an angle is additionally made in such a way that the extreme sections are directed towards the central sections.

[0009] The corners that form the M-shaped element are rounded.

[0010] The wire element is made of metal or polymer.

[0011] The end sections of the device are bent.

[0012] Also, the technical result is achieved by a method of nail correction, in which, before being installed on the nail, the nail correction device, made in the form of a thin long element made of elastic material, having an M-shaped element in the central part that forms a spring, and the ends of the outer sections of the M-shaped element are bent in the direction of the lateral edges of the nail, wherein the central sections of the M-shaped element are made straight, and the outer sections in the free position of the spring element are directed towards the central corner of the M-shaped element, is pre-compressed, then attached to the surface of the nail with an adhesive substance, at least in the places of the corners of the M-shaped element.

[0013] At least on one extreme section of the M-shaped element, closer to the junction of the extreme and central sections, a rounded bend or a bend forming an angle is additionally made in such a way that the extreme sections are directed towards the central sections.

[0014] The corners that form the M-shaped element are rounded.

[0015] The wire element is made of metal or polymer.

[0016] The end sections of the device are folded to allow the device to be secured to the nail.

[0018] Fig. 1 - example of the device, top view.

[0019] Fig. 2 - example of the device, side view.

[0020] Implementation of the invention

[0021] The claimed device for correcting deformed and ingrown nails works as follows.

[0022] Before applying the device to the nail, the device, which is made from a thin, long element of an elastic material, such as a wire of round, square, or other cross-section, is pre-compressed, simultaneously creating elastic tension at all points (corners) of the M-shaped element (1). In this state, the device is attached to the nail surface with adhesive at the corners and end sections (2) or, if there are bends at the end sections (3) (Fig. 2), it is secured to the nail plate.

[0023] Due to the fact that the central sections of the M-shaped element (1) are made straight, between them, when the spring returns from the compressed position to the free position, a strong stretching of the central part of the nail occurs due to the elastic return of the mating material (corner) between the central sections (4) (V-shaped part), since the straight sections do not act as a spring, but only the mating material (corner) does. At the same time, due to the fact that in the free position, when the spring element is not compressed, the extreme sections (5) are directed towards the central corner of the M-shaped element (1), when the spring is compressed, the stress in the mating material (corners) (6) of the extreme and central sections decreases, due to the reduction in the possible convergence of these sections (5) and (4) to each other. This reduces the return stroke of these sections (5), creating less stress aimed at tearing the nail from the sides. This design allows for varying nail extension forces for different parts of the nail: the lateral and central parts. This not only reduces finger trauma during the procedure, but also allows for greater use of the central part of the nail during correction, creating greater force there, taking into account the thickness of the nail, the presence of nail damage, and other characteristics of each finger.

[0024] The M-shaped form (element) (1) within the framework of the present application also means forms in which the corners of M are rounded and / or the legs of M are shorter than the central inclined sections, for example, as shown in Fig. 1.

[0025] Furthermore, the proposed solution expands the range of materials—both metal, such as medical steel, and plastic, including composites—used for this type of correction, utilizing materials previously unused due to their high elasticity. This allows for faster procedure times by creating greater tensile forces in the central portion of the nail, which was previously impossible due to the lack of redistribution of different tensile forces across the nail.

[0026] Furthermore, in order to reduce the tensile force on the lateral parts of the nail, for example, when it is necessary to create a very strong force in the central part, on the outer section of the M-shaped element (1), closer to the junction of the outer (5) and central section (4), an additional rounded bend or bend (7) can be made, forming an angle, so that the outer sections (5) are directed towards the central sections (4). Such a bend (7) further reduces the return force of the spring at the junction of the central (4) and outer section (5).

[0027] Moreover, such a bend (7) can be performed either on one section or on two, depending on the characteristics of the nail and the injury, which will reduce trauma during the procedure.

[0028] It is advisable to make the corners (junction points) that form the M-shaped element (1) rounded. This design ensures greater spring resistance to fracture during compression, thereby increasing the durability of the device.
