Abstract
Description
[0001] Technical field
[0002] This group of inventions relates to nicotine-containing products for smokeless oral use, specifically to a device for oral nicotine delivery made of an absorbent material and containing a liquid nicotine-containing composition, as well as to a method for manufacturing such a device. The group of inventions can be used in the production and use of non-tobacco nicotine-containing products intended for placement in the user's oral cavity, primarily under the upper lip.
[0003] Technology Level
[0004] The prior art includes products for the oral administration of active substances and methods for their production, in which fibrous or paper materials containing the active substance are used as a carrier.
[0005] For example, EP3192380A1 discloses a solution for an oral device placed between the user's gum and lip. This device contains a tobacco filler enclosed in a casing, the material of which retains the filler, allows saliva to pass through the device's interior, and delivers flavorings and nicotine into the oral cavity. However, this solution is a device in which the active substance is contained in a filler enclosed in a separate casing, rather than in a device formed as a single element of absorbent material. This prior art solution does not disclose a device in which the liquid nicotine-containing composition is retained within the internal volume of the material, distributed throughout the entire element, and present on both its outer surfaces. Moreover, in the known solution, the active substance is supplied from a filler enclosed in a shell, whereas in the claimed group of inventions, the nicotine-containing composition is retained directly in the volume of the element.
[0006] Additionally, RU2745039C1 discloses a solution related to a nicotine-containing product for oral use, formed in the form of a strip of edible paper impregnated with a nicotine solution. This solution is of interest as an additional alternative in terms of product form. However, in this solution, the carrier is formed as thin edible paper, rather than a solid absorbent material capable of retaining a liquid nicotine-containing composition within the product's interior. This prior art also fails to disclose the presence of the composition on both outer surfaces of the product while simultaneously retaining a reserve of the composition within the internal volume of the element. Thus, snus-type products used under the lip, as well as nicotine-containing products on a thin paper carrier, are known from the prior art. However, these known solutions do not achieve the claimed technical result, since in the first case, the active substance is contained in a filler placed within a separate shell, while in the second case, it is applied to a thin paper carrier that does not form a distinct internal volume of the absorbent element. Consequently, these known solutions do not form a separate, integral absorbent element in which the liquid nicotine-containing composition would be distributed throughout the entire thickness of the element, creating an internal reserve of the composition exposed to both its outer surfaces.
[0007] Also known is the solution disclosed in patent CN 120093007 A, relating to a nicotine oral element and a method for manufacturing it, from which it is known to use an absorbent fibrous material as a carrier, including medical cotton, cotton fiber, wood cellulose fiber, viscose or lyocell fiber, during manufacturing, the nicotine-containing system is obtained in the form of a water-soluble colloid containing a salt of an organic acid of nicotine, after which the carrier is immersed in said colloid for its absorption and uniform distribution, followed by cooling and hardening. The said solution provides for the introduction of a nicotine-containing system into an absorbent fibrous carrier, but does not provide for the through distribution of a liquid nicotine-containing composition across the thickness of a separate solid absorbent element with its retention in the internal volume of the element and simultaneous presence on both external surfaces. This is due to the fact that in the known solution the carrier is impregnated with a water-soluble colloid followed by cooling and hardening, whereas the claimed device provides for the preservation of a nicotine-containing composition in a liquid state in the internal volume of a separate solid element made of needle-punched non-woven material.
[0008] The claimed group of inventions is based on the formation of a separate integral absorbent element with the preservation of a liquid nicotine-containing composition in the internal volume and its through distribution across the thickness of the element.
[0009] Disclosure of the essence of the invention
[0010] This group of inventions is aimed at solving the technical problem of creating a device for oral nicotine delivery and a method for manufacturing the same, ensuring the production of a separate, one-piece absorbent element in which a liquid nicotine-containing composition is retained within the element's interior, distributed throughout its entire thickness, and present on both outer surfaces of the element. The technical result of the first invention consists in ensuring the through-distribution of a liquid nicotine-containing composition across the thickness of a separate, one-piece absorbent element, retaining the composition within the element's interior and simultaneously presenting it on both outer surfaces of the element. This technical result is achieved by a device for oral nicotine delivery comprising a carrier and a nicotine-containing composition. The carrier is a separate, solid element made of needle-punched nonwoven material, while the nicotine-containing composition is liquid, contains nicotine and propylene glycol, is retained within the element, is distributed throughout its entire thickness, and is present on both outer surfaces of the element. The needle-punched nonwoven material can be made of polypropylene, viscose, polyester, or combinations thereof. The thickness of the individual solid element can range from 1 to 5 mm, and the surface density of the needle-punched nonwoven material can range from 100 to 500 g / m. 2The nicotine-containing composition may additionally contain menthol, a flavoring agent, and a sweetener. The individual, solid element may have a rectangular, square, triangular, circular, or ellipsoidal shape. The carrier, formed as a separate, solid element made of needle-punched nonwoven material, provides an internal volume capable of receiving and retaining the liquid nicotine-containing composition. Distribution of the liquid nicotine-containing composition across the entire thickness of the element and its presence on both outer surfaces ensures the presence of the composition both within the element's internal volume and on both its outer surfaces. The result is a separate, solid element in which the supply of liquid nicotine-containing composition is distributed throughout the element's entire thickness and exposed to both its outer surfaces. The technical result of the second invention consists in producing a separate, one-piece absorbent element in which a liquid nicotine-containing composition is retained within the element's internal volume and distributed throughout its entire thickness. This technical result is achieved by a method for manufacturing a device for oral nicotine delivery, comprising preparing a nicotine-containing composition, applying the nicotine-containing composition to a carrier, and forming the device. A liquid nicotine-containing composition comprising nicotine and propylene glycol is prepared. Said composition is applied on both sides of a carrier made of needle-punched nonwoven material by roller coating under pressure, ensuring the composition is retained within the carrier's internal volume and distributed throughout the carrier's entire thickness. Individual, one-piece elements are then formed from the impregnated carrier. The carrier can have a thickness from 1 to 5 mm and a surface density from 100 to 500 g / m. 2 Individual solid elements are formed by dividing the impregnated carrier. Dividing can be accomplished by punching, cutting, or slicing. After formation, the individual solid elements can be placed in a sealed container. Applying the liquid nicotine-containing composition to both sides of the carrier, ensuring its distribution across the entire thickness of the carrier, creates a continuous distribution of the composition within the carrier. Subsequent formation of individual solid elements from the impregnated carrier allows for the production of elements in which the liquid nicotine-containing composition is retained within the element's internal volume. This method enables the production of an individual, solid absorbent element with an internal reserve of liquid nicotine-containing composition distributed throughout the element's thickness.
[0011] Brief description of drawings
[0012] Fig. 1 shows a general view of a device for oral delivery of nicotine, where 1 is a device in one of the design types, 2 is a liquid nicotine-containing composition distributed in the volume of the element and on its outer surfaces.
[0013] The group of inventions can be implemented as follows.
[0014] The device is manufactured using a carrier made of absorbent material designed to form a single element. In specific embodiments, this material may be needle-punched non-woven material, including materials based on polypropylene, viscose, polyester, and combinations thereof, cellulose acetate, cellulose triacetate, felt, sponge material, organic cotton wool, viscose wool, mixed wool, linen wool, hemp wool, as well as cotton substitutes, including microfibers based on polypropylene, polyester, or polyamide. In preferred embodiments, the carrier has a surface density of 100-500 g / m 2and thickness of 1-5 mm.
[0015] The nicotine-containing composition is prepared in liquid form. In one embodiment, the composition comprises nicotine and propylene glycol. In other embodiments, the composition additionally contains menthol, flavoring, and / or sweetener. The composition does not contain any solid fillers.
[0016] After preparation, the liquid nicotine-containing composition is applied to the carrier on both sides, ensuring distribution of the composition throughout the entire carrier. In some cases, application is achieved by double-sided impregnation. Other application methods include roller coating, pressure coating, dipping, spraying, or pouring. The specific application method is selected based on the properties of the carrier used and the viscosity of the nicotine-containing composition.
[0017] After applying the composition, individual elements are formed from the impregnated carrier. In some cases, the formation is accomplished by dividing the impregnated carrier, including by punching, cutting, or slicing. The resulting device can be rectangular, square, triangular, round, or ellipsoidal. Polygonal shapes can be made with either straight or rounded corners. After formation, the individual elements are placed in a sealed container.
[0018] The result is an oral nicotine delivery device comprising a carrier and a liquid nicotine-containing composition distributed throughout the element and applied to both sides. By forming the carrier from an absorbent material and applying the composition to both sides of the carrier, ensuring its distribution throughout the entire carrier, a separate element is formed in which the liquid nicotine-containing composition is distributed throughout the element's thickness, retained within the element's interior, and simultaneously present on both its outer surfaces. This ensures the composition is distributed throughout the element's thickness, forming a reserve of the composition within the element's interior, exposed to both its outer surfaces.
[0019] Example of specific implementation
[0020] The carrier is needle-punched non-woven material with a thickness of 1-5 mm and a surface density of 100-500 g / m 2A liquid nicotine-containing composition is prepared, containing nicotine and propylene glycol, and in some cases also menthol, flavoring, and / or sweetener. The resulting composition is applied to the carrier on both sides by double-sided impregnation until the composition is distributed throughout the entire carrier. Individual rectangular elements are then formed from the impregnated carrier and placed in a sealed container.
[0021] The resulting device is characterized by the fact that the liquid nicotine-containing composition is distributed throughout the entire thickness of the element, is retained in the internal volume of the element and is simultaneously present on both of its outer surfaces.
