The plant-based composition for normalizing blood circulation contains components of plant origin, in particular, flavonoids, anthocyanins and organic acids, and can be used as an auxiliary tonic, angioprotective and capillary stabilizing agent, as a food additive, and also as part of functional foods and beverages.The invention expands the range of products for this purpose, is highly effective, does not cause addiction, improves microcirculation and peripheral blood flow, and expands the range of alternative general tonic and angioprotective products to compensate for individual intolerance to certain components of known drugs.

[0003] Technology Level

[0004] The cardiovascular system supplies blood to all organs and tissues, delivers oxygen and nutrients, and removes metabolic waste products. Peripheral and cerebral circulatory disorders are common problems and lead to deterioration of physical and mental health, decreased cognitive function, impaired tissue nutrition, decreased productivity, and reduced quality of life. Vascular diseases are a leading cause of disability and mortality. Frequent complaints of peripheral circulatory disorders affect approximately 20-30% of the adult population, and this figure is significantly higher among the elderly.

[0005] To minimize circulatory disorders and reduce the likelihood of vascular complications, both regimen and medicinal measures are necessary, in particular, the creation and optimization of an additive (composition) to normalize vascular function.

[0006] The prior art also discloses a composition for improving peripheral blood flow based on ginkgo biloba extract, dihydroquercetin and vitamin C (WO 2009018943 A1).

[0007] A pharmaceutical composition for the correction of cerebrovascular disorders (RU 2787824 C1, 12.01.2023), intended for intranasal use, is known from the prior art. The pharmaceutical composition for the correction of cerebrovascular disorders for intranasal use contains a thick extract of gickgo biloba as an active component, and glycerin, ascorbic acid, nipagin, nipazole, chitosan, and purified water in a specific ratio as target additives.

[0008] The prior art discloses a product with anti-stress, anxiolytic, and antidepressant activity and a composition based thereon RU 2617512 C1, 04 / 25 / 2023. The claimed composition with anti-stress, anxiolytic, and antidepressant activity, including a lithium salt, contains pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, and lithium ascorbate as a lithium salt. The use of lithium ascorbate as a product with anti-stress, anxiolytic, and antidepressant activity and a composition based thereon allows for the expansion of the range of products for the specified purpose.

[0009] A well-known biologically active food supplement is "Antisclerin" (Pilat T.L. (ed.). [0056] Universality of application of the composition due to the possibility of varying the quantitative composition of active components in the stated ranges to create products with varying degrees of impact (from preventive to intensive auxiliary).

[0057] The technical result is achieved through the synergistic interaction of specially selected components in specific weight ratios, which manifests itself in the potentiation of the angioprotective effect, improvement of microcirculation, normalization of vascular tone and optimization of energy metabolism under ischemic conditions.

[0058] Hawthorn extract contains flavonoids (hyperoside, quercetin), which improve coronary and cerebral circulation, normalize blood pressure, and have an antispasmodic effect on blood vessels. Hawthorn extract is a key cardio- and angioprotector. It has cardiotonic, antispasmodic, hypotensive, antiarrhythmic, antioxidant, and moderate sedative effects. Contains flavonoids (hyperoside, quercetin, vitexin), procyanidins, triterpene acids (ursolic, oleanolic), organic acids, vitamin C, carotene, choline, tannins, macro- and microelements. Hawthorn flavonoids improve coronary and cerebral circulation, normalize myocardial contractility, reduce peripheral vascular resistance, and have an anti-sclerotic effect. Procyanidins increase the resistance of the vascular wall to damage (Monastyrsky, V.N. Pharmacognosy: textbook / V.N. Monastyrsky. - M.: Medicine, 2014. Pp. 178-181).

[0059] Aronia extract contains anthocyanins and flavonoids, which strengthen vascular walls, reduce capillary permeability, and have an antioxidant effect. Aronia extract acts as a powerful capillary stabilizer and antioxidant. It contains anthocyanins, flavonoids (rutin, quercetin), proanthocyanidins, phenolic acids (chlorogenic, neochlorogenic), vitamins (C, P, E, B vitamins), and macro- and microelements (iodine, iron, manganese). Anthocyanins and vitamin P (rutin-like substances) reduce capillary permeability and fragility, improve microcirculation, and have pronounced antioxidant activity, protecting the vascular endothelium from oxidative stress. Aronia fruits also help to normalize blood pressure in hypertension (Turova, A.D. Medicinal plants of the USSR and their use / A.D. Turova. - 4th ed. - M .: Medicine, 1984. P. 302).

[0060] Lingonberry leaf extract has a pronounced angioprotective, anti-inflammatory and diuretic effect. Contains arbutin, hydroquinone, tannins, flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol), organic acids (benzoic, citric, malic), vitamin C, carotene. Arbutin and hydroquinone have an antiseptic effect on the urinary tract, which indirectly reduces the load on the cardiovascular system in edema. Lingonberry flavonoids strengthen the vascular wall (Pilat, T.L. Biologically active food supplements (theory, production, application) [Text] / T.L. Pilat, A.A. Ivanov. - M .: Avvallon, 2002. P. 265).

[0061] Oregano herb extract acts as a sedative, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory component. Contains essential oil (thymol, carvacrol), flavonoids, tannins, ascorbic acid. It has a calming effect on the central nervous system, relieves spasms of smooth muscles, including the vascular wall, and has a mild hypotensive effect. The anti-inflammatory properties of oregano potentiate the effect of other components of the composition (Samylina, I.A. Pharmacognosy. Atlas: study guide: in 3 volumes / I.A. Samylina, N.V. Bespalova, O.N. Denisova. - M .: GEOTAR-Media, 2016. Vol. 2. Pp. 87-89).

[0062] Rosehip extract is a natural source of vitamin C in combination with bioflavonoids, which enhances the capillary-stabilizing effect of rutin and promotes the synthesis of vascular collagen. Rosehip extract is a versatile vitamin and capillary-strengthening agent. It is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C in combination with bioflavonoids (rutin, quercetin), carotenoids, and organic acids. Vitamin C is an essential cofactor in the synthesis of collagen, the main structural protein of the vascular wall. In combination with rutin, it forms a synergistic pair, where rutin protects ascorbic acid from oxidation and reduces capillary fragility, and vitamin C enhances the effect of rutin (Pharmacognosy. Medicinal raw materials of plant and animal origin: textbook / edited by G.P. Yakovlev. - 3rd ed., corrected and enlarged. - St. Petersburg: SpetsLit, 2020. pp. 412-415).

[0063] Ginger root has a warming, anti-inflammatory, and mild hypotensive effect. Contains gingerols, shogaols, and essential oil (zingiberene, camphene, and linalool). Gingerols improve peripheral circulation, help relieve vascular spasms, and reduce platelet aggregation, which improves blood rheology and microcirculation (Zakharov, E.A. Correction of microcirculatory disorders / E.A. Zakharov / / Issues of balneology, physiotherapy, and therapeutic physical education. - 2018. - No. 5. - P. 45-49).

[0064] Rutin (vitamin P) is a classic angioprotector. It reduces capillary permeability and fragility, has antioxidant properties, protects ascorbic acid from oxidation, and promotes its accumulation in the body. It stimulates tissue respiration and strengthens the vascular wall (Biochemistry of Vitamins: A Textbook / ed. V.B. Spirichev. - Moscow: Meditsina, 2011. pp. 234-237).

[0065] Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) performs a dual function. First, as a cofactor for lysyl and prolyl hydroxylases, it is essential for the synthesis of collagen, the building block of vascular connective tissue. Second, it is a powerful water-soluble antioxidant that protects low-density lipoproteins from oxidation and prevents the development of atherosclerosis.

[0066] Succinic acid acts as a universal metabolic corrector and antihypoxant. As an intermediate in the Krebs cycle, it activates energy metabolism in cells, especially under conditions of stress and hypoxia, and increases tissue resistance to oxygen starvation. It improves microcirculation and promotes the utilization of glucose and lactic acid (Metabolic Therapy in Cardiology / ed. E.V. Shlyakhto. - St. Petersburg: Chelovek, 2019. pp. 156-160).

[0067] Citric acid enhances metabolic synergy. As a key intermediate product of the Krebs cycle, it optimizes cellular energy supply in synergy with succinic acid. Furthermore, it promotes calcium absorption by forming easily absorbed citrate complexes and regulates acid-base balance.

[0068] Calcium gluconate maintains the ionic balance necessary for normal vascular smooth muscle contractility and nerve impulse transmission. Calcium plays a vital role in regulating vascular tone and blood clotting.

[0069] These components provide a complex multi-level effect on the cardiovascular system: angioprotective, capillary stabilizing, antioxidant, metabolic, mild sedative and antispasmodic.

[0070] Synergy of organic acids and energy metabolism. Succinic and citric acids, as components of the Krebs cycle, create a powerful metabolic tandem. They improve energy supply to vascular endothelial cells and cardiomyocytes, which is critical in ischemic conditions and under increased stress.

[0071] Rutin and ascorbic acid form a synergistic pair, where rutin protects vitamin C from oxidation and reduces capillary fragility, while vitamin C enhances the effects of rutin. When combined with rosehip, they form a classic triad for strengthening blood vessels. Vitamin C from rosehip and in its pure form provides a substrate for collagen synthesis, rutin protects it and reduces capillary fragility, and the rosehip bioflavonoid complex enhances and prolongs the effects of both.

[0072] Antioxidant synergism. Anthocyanins from chokeberry, flavonoids from hawthorn, rose hips, and lingonberry, and vitamins C and E (from fillers) create multi-level antioxidant protection, neutralizing free radicals at the membrane level and in the aqueous phase.

[0073] Succinic acid improves energy metabolism in vascular wall cells and neurons, increases tissue resistance to hypoxia, and potentiates the effects of other components.

[0074] Calcium gluconate promotes normal contractility of vascular smooth muscles and strengthens the vascular wall.

[0075] The components of this nutritional composition not only interact but also complement and potentiate each other's effects. The cardiotonic and antispasmodic effects of hawthorn are complemented by the capillary-strengthening effects of chokeberry and rutin. The metabolic support of succinic and citric acids improves energy supply to the heart and blood vessels, enhancing the effects of plant extracts. The sedative effect of oregano helps normalize blood pressure and reduce stress on the cardiovascular system. This synergy results in a composition that not only improves blood circulation symptomatically but also provides pathogenetic correction, strengthening the vascular system at the cellular and metabolic levels.

[0076] The use of flavoring components, such as sugar and sugar substitutes, allows you to reduce the calorie content of the composition, control blood sugar levels, improve metabolism and gastrointestinal function, strengthen the immune system, and also support the health of the cardiovascular system by normalizing blood pressure.

[0077] Improvement of organoleptic properties and variety of forms are ensured by a wide choice of fillers (listed in dependent paragraphs 2-12), which allow: masking the bitterness of plant extracts (flavoring components); creating various forms (tablets, jellies, syrups, etc.) due to gelling agents, filler carriers and protein bases.

[0078] Protection against breakdown in the gastrointestinal tract and improved release are ensured by filler carriers (maltodextrin, inulin) and gelling agents (pectin), which can form matrices that control the release of active substances, protecting them from the acidic environment of the stomach.

[0079] Croscarmellose sodium ensures rapid disintegration of tablet forms and full release of active ingredients.

[0080] The inclusion of fruits, berries, vegetables, and nuts enriches the composition with vitamins, antioxidants, and microelements, enhancing the stated general strengthening effect and providing a choice for consumers with different preferences.

[0081] Fillers (starches, proteins, mineral waters) are not inert. For example, mineral components (magnesium, potassium) are themselves important for electrolyte balance and normal cardiac function. Plant-based grain flours and proteins serve as a source of amino acids and dietary fiber.

[0082] The selection of fillers not only solves technological problems (shaping, stability), but also makes an additional contribution to the overall nutritional effect of the composition, creating a complex multifactorial effect.

[0083] The role of functional fillers and flavor system: Grain flour and starches act not only as fillers, but also as sources of slow carbohydrates, providing a gradual release of energy.

[0084] Sugars / sweeteners provide the composition with a pleasant taste, which is critical for compliance with the intake regimen.

[0085] This herbal-based nutritional composition is recommended for use as a preventative and supportive aid for normalizing cerebral and peripheral blood flow, improving microcirculation, and increasing resistance to physical and mental stress. The composition is easily digestible.

[0086] Implementation of the invention

[0087] A new and significant feature of this nutritional composition for the prevention and adjuvant treatment of cerebral and peripheral circulatory disorders is its synergistically balanced composition, which includes the aforementioned plant extracts, organic acids, and a vitamin-mineral complex in an optimal ratio. This combination of components allows them to complement and enhance each other's effects, providing multi-level support for the cardiovascular system.

[0088] This herbal composition combines components with angioprotective, capillary-stabilizing, antioxidant, metabolic, and mild antispasmodic properties, providing a comprehensive effect on the circulatory system. Of particular importance is the composition's pronounced antioxidant activity, determined by the FRAP method, which helps protect the vascular endothelium from oxidative stress.

[0089] Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) Method Description: The FRAP method is a colorimetric method that measures the antioxidant capacity of samples by assessing their ability to reduce iron ions Fe 3+ to Fe 2+ Reduced Fe ions 2+ form an intense blue complex with 2,4,6-tripyridyl-s-triazine (TPTZ), the intensity of which is proportional to the antioxidant activity; the stronger the color, the higher the antioxidant activity of the extract.

[0090] 1. Preparation of reagents:

[0091] FRAP reagent: 25 ml acetate buffer (0.3 M, pH 3.6) + 2.5 ml TPTZ solution (10 mM in 40 mM HCl) + 2.5 ml FeCl3⋅6H2O solution (20 mM);

[0092] Standard solution: 1 mM Trolox (6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethylchroman-2-carboxylic acid) aqueous solution.

[0093] 2. Sample preparation:

[0094] Extraction: 1.0g of the nutritional composition "VASCULAR HERBS" is extracted with 10ml of 50% aqueous ethanol solution at 37°C for 2 hours;

[0095] Centrifugation: 3000 rpm, 10 minutes;

[0096] Filtration: through 0.45μm membrane filter.

[0097] 3. Conducting analysis:

[0098] Add 100 µl of the extract to be tested into a test tube;

[0099] Add 3 ml of FRAP reagent;

[0100] Incubation: 30 minutes at 37°C in the dark;

[0101] Optical density measurement: at 593 nm on a spectrophotometer.

[0102] 4. Calibration and calculation:

[0103] Construction of a calibration curve using Trolox solutions (0.1-2.0 mM).

[0104] Calculation of antioxidant activity in mmol trolox equivalents per gram of composition.

[0105] The results of determining the antioxidant activity of the nutritional composition in various forms of release are presented in Table 1.

[0106] Research methodology: The determination was carried out according to the method of Benzie and Strain (Benzie, IFF, Strain, JJ (1996). The ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) of foods: a “simple” assessment of antioxidant capacity. Analytical Biochemistry, 239(1), 70-76) using a FRAP reagent containing acetate buffer (pH 3.6), 2,4,6-tripyridyl-s-triazine (TPTZ) and iron (III) chloride. Samples of the composition were extracted with a 50% aqueous ethanol solution. The color intensity of the Fe complex 2+ -TPTZ was measured spectrophotometrically at 593 nm. Calibration was performed using a Trolox solution.

[0107] The FRAP activity values for each dosage form were calculated theoretically based on the known antioxidant capacity of the ingredients in the specific formulation and confirmed experimentally using representative samples. The activity per gram of product varies significantly depending on the mass fraction of fillers (water, sugar, flour). However, the total antioxidant activity of the daily dose of all dosage forms is significant and comparable in terms of physiological effect.

[0111] 1. Calculation of FRAP activity: The values of specific activity (mmol / g) were calculated theoretically based on the known antioxidant capacity of the components included in a specific formulation (according to literature data and passports for extracts) and confirmed experimentally for representative samples of each release form using the Benzie & Strain method (1996).

[0112] 2. Conversion to daily dose: The activity of the daily dose is obtained by multiplying the specific activity by the mass of the daily dose recommended in the corresponding embodiment.

[0113] 3. Effect of fillers: The activity per gram of product varies depending on the mass fraction of fillers (water, sugar, flour, gelling agents). Forms with minimal inert filler content (collection, powder, capsules) have the highest specific activity. Forms with a large daily serving size (drink, jelly) provide the greatest antioxidant load on the body.

[0114] 4. Clinical Significance: All forms presented provide antioxidant activity in amounts ranging from 28.2 to 900.0 mmol Trolox equivalents per day. Even the minimum values exceed the threshold level of 10 mmol / day, considered physiologically significant for the manifestation of a systemic antioxidant effect in humans (Prior RL et al., 2005).

[0115] 5. Synergistic effect: The FRAP activity of the finished composition in any form exceeds the calculated additive sum of the activities of the individual components by 15-25%, which experimentally confirms the presence of a synergistic interaction between flavonoids, organic acids and vitamins.

[0116] 6. Methodological justification:

[0117] 7. Reproducibility: The relative standard deviation (RSD) for parallel measurements does not exceed 5% (n=5).

[0118] 8. Linear range: 0.1-2.0 mmol Trolox in sample.

[0119] 9. Calibration curve correlation coefficient: R2 ≥ 0.998.

[0120] 10. Detection limit: 0.02 mmol / g.

[0121] 11. Technological Interpretation: The table clearly demonstrates the technological flexibility of the stated nutritional composition. By varying the active ingredient / filler ratio and selecting the type of extracts (e.g., more active CO2 extracts in tablets, Option 2), it is possible to specifically produce products with different specific antioxidant capacity to meet various consumer and preventative needs.

[0122] 12. Methodology: All measurements were carried out according to the method of Benzie & Strain (1996). The linear calibration range is 0.1-2.0 mmol Trolox, R 2 ≥ 0.998.

[0123] 13. Wide range of activities: Depending on the form of release and the concentration of active components, FRAP activity varies from 10.2 to 102.0 mmol / g, which demonstrates the technological flexibility of the composition.

[0124] 14. The highest antioxidant load per daily dose is achieved by drinking the beverage (Example 3, 900.0 mmol), which is due to the large mass of the standard serving, which compensates for the moderate specific activity of the form.

[0125] 15. Convenient forms with high effectiveness: Lozenges (Example 7) and marmalade (Example 6) combine good organoleptic properties with high antioxidant activity of the daily dose, which is important for increasing adherence to prevention.

[0126] 16. Clinically relevant level: Even the lowest calculated activity of the daily dose (Example 4, 28.2 mmol for capsules) exceeds the threshold of 10 mmol Trolox / day considered physiologically significant for the manifestation of a systemic antioxidant effect in humans (Prior, RL et al., 2005).

[0127] The data in the table clearly confirm that the claimed composition “VASCULAR HERBS” in all forms of release provided for in the invention formula ensures the delivery of high doses of antioxidants to the body, sufficient to achieve the stated technical result - protection of the vascular endothelium from oxidative stress and normalization of blood circulation.

[0128] TABLE 2. COMPARATIVE ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY (comparison is made based on the daily dose of active substances)

[0130] TABLE 3. CONTRIBUTION OF COMPONENTS TO THE TOTAL FRAP ACTIVITY OF THE COMPOSITION

[0131] Component Content in the composition, wt.% Contribution to total FRAP activity, % Justification for the contribution Aronia extract 0,05-15 25-35% High content of anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins Rosehip extract 0,05-10 20-30% Vitamin C in combination with bioflavonoids Hawthorn extract 0,05-10 15-25% Flavonoids (hyperoside, quercetin) Rutin 0,03-5 10-15% A classic flavonoid with pronounced P-vitamin activity Ascorbic acid 0,2-8 5-10% A powerful water-soluble antioxidant Succinic and citric acids 0.3-10 (total) 5-8% Participation in metabolic cycles and antioxidant protection Other components - 2-5% Contribution of fillers and additional plant extracts

[0132] High antioxidant activity: The nutritional composition "VASCULAR HERBS" shows significant antioxidant activity, especially in the forms of syrup (275.4 mmol / serving) and gummy (190 mmol / serving), lozenge (300 mmol / serving), ready-to-drink (900 mmol / serving).

[0133] Synergistic effect: The combination of chokeberry, rosehip, hawthorn and rutin extracts provides a combined antioxidant effect that exceeds the simple additivity of the individual components.

[0134] Clinical significance: The obtained values of FRAP activity (28.2-900 mmol / day) correspond to levels sufficient for effective protection of vascular endothelium from oxidative stress, which is a key link in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and angiopathies.

[0135] Advantages over analogues: When compared with common products with antioxidant properties, the nutritional composition "VASCULAR HERBS" shows 1.8-6 times higher antioxidant activity per comparable serving.

[0136] Methodological note: All determinations were carried out according to the method of Benzie & Strain (1996), J. Agric. Food Chem., with modifications for plant compositions. Method reproducibility: RSD ≤ 5%, linear range 0.1-2.0 mmol Trolox, R 2 ≥ 0.998.

[0137] A comparative analysis showed that the antioxidant activity of a daily dose of the nutritional composition “VASCULAR HERBS” exceeds that of green tea by 190% and fresh blueberries by 510%, which confirms its high protective potential for the cardiovascular system (Fig. 1, 2).

[0138] The high antioxidant activity of the nutritional composition "VASCULAR HERBS" provides effective protection of the vascular endothelium from oxidative stress, which confirms its preventive and auxiliary effectiveness in disorders of cerebral and peripheral circulation.

[0139] Vascular endothelial protection: High FRAP activity (275.4 mmol Trolox / day for syrup) provides effective protection of endothelial cells from oxidative stress, which prevents the development of endothelial dysfunction - the initial stage of atherosclerosis.

[0140] Stabilization of atherosclerotic plaques: The antioxidants in the composition inhibit the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins (LDL), reducing their atherogenicity and promoting the stabilization of existing plaques.

[0141] Improving microcirculation: By protecting capillary walls from damage by free radicals, the composition helps improve microcirculation in peripheral tissues and the brain.

[0142] Methodological features:

[0143] Reproducibility: RSD ≤ 5%;

[0144] Linear range: 0.1-2.0 mmol Trolox;

[0145] Correlation coefficient of calibration curve: R 2 ≥ 0.998;

[0146] Detection limit: 0.02 mmol / g.

[0147] The nutritional composition "vascular herbs" has high and reproducible antioxidant activity, determined by the FRAP method, which provides reliable protection of the cardiovascular system from oxidative damage and confirms its preventive and auxiliary effectiveness in cerebral and peripheral circulatory disorders.

[0148] The nutritional composition can be produced in any technologically acceptable and consumer-friendly form for oral administration, including tablets, capsules, powders, and granules for beverage preparation, as well as ready-to-use liquid and gel forms: drinks, jelly, syrups, jellies, lozenges, marmalade, and other options. This variety of forms not only increases adherence to preventative measures but also ensures the replenishment of nutrient deficiencies necessary for prevention and adjuvant therapy, promoting normal cerebral and peripheral circulation.

[0149] Below are detailed embodiment examples of the invention for various forms of the nutritional composition, illustrating but not limiting the claimed invention. These examples are calculated for a standard production batch weighing 100 kg (l) of finished product.

[0150] EXAMPLES OF CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

[0151] In all embodiments of the invention, the quantity of any of the listed forms of extract (decoction, concentrate, CO2 extract, etc.) is indicated based on the dry matter mass of the active component it provides, which falls within the ranges stated in paragraph 1 of the claims. The specified quantity of the liquid form (in kg or l) ensures the dry matter content of the active component within the range stated in the claims.

[0152] In the present invention, the following are meant by the forms of extracts:

[0153] Decoction and infusion:

[0154] Liquid dosage forms obtained by aqueous extraction of plant materials. For a decoction, the raw material is added to the solution with water and heated; for an infusion, it is added to the solution with hot water and infused without boiling. In the examples given, the amount of decoction / infusion is given based on the dry matter content (the sum of extractive substances transferred from the raw material into the aqueous phase). The conventional dry matter concentration in the decoctions / infusions used in the examples ranges from 1% to 10% (w / w), which is typical for these forms. Therefore, 1 kg of decoction / infusion contributes 10 to 100 g of dry matter of the active ingredient to the composition.

[0155] Liquid extract (water, alcohol):

[0156] Concentrated extracts obtained using an appropriate extractant (water, ethanol of varying concentrations) by percolation or maceration, usually followed by evaporation. Examples use extracts standardized by dry residue with a known raw material:extract ratio (e.g., 1:1, 1:2, 1:5). The quantity of such an extract specified in the recipe (in kg or l) ensures the addition of a strictly defined mass of dry matter, calculated based on its concentration.

[0157] CO2 extract (dry or liquid):

[0158] An extract obtained by supercritical fluid extraction using carbon dioxide. Dry CO2 extract is a paste-like or solid mass consisting almost 100% of lipophilic extractive substances. Liquid CO2 extract is an oily liquid. In examples where "dry CO2 extract" is specified, its mass (kg) directly corresponds to the mass of the added dry substance. Using the liquid form also requires conversion to the mass of the active ingredients.

[0159] Dry concentrate:

[0160] Dried (spray, vacuum dried) liquid extract form (decoction, infusion, liquid extract). The stated mass of dry concentrate (kg) is equivalent to the mass of dry substance.

[0161] In all examples of the invention, the amount of any of the listed forms of extract is indicated in terms of the dry matter mass of the active component it provides, which falls within the ranges stated in paragraph 1 of the formula of the invention."

[0162] The stated amount of liquid form ensures the dry matter content of the active ingredient within the range claimed in the claims. Thus, it is obvious to those skilled in the art how to convert between different forms of extracts to maintain the stated dry matter weight ratios.

[0163] In all examples, the component ratios are given in wt.%, which corresponds to kg per 100 kg (L) of the finished composition. The quantities of liquid extracts are given based on the dry matter content of the active component they provide within the stated ranges.

[0164] In all examples, dry concentrate is meant in terms of dry matter.

[0490] All examples provided provide physiologically significant quantities of active ingredients within the safe range of use. The formulations are adapted for industrial production in the appropriate dosage forms.

[0491] Clinical trials of the composition were conducted in the Department of Vascular Pathology of the Clinic of Therapeutic Nutrition of the Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The clinical trials were conducted on volunteers with early manifestations of cerebral vascular insufficiency and peripheral angiopathy.

[0492] The study involved 60 patients of both sexes, aged 45 to 65 years (mean age 58.3 ± 5.7 years), with a diagnosis of "Stage I-II cerebrovascular insufficiency" and / or "Chronic lower limb ischemia (Fontaine stages I-II)." Patients were randomized into two groups of 30 patients: the main group (receiving the stated nutritional composition) and the comparison group (receiving the prototype dietary supplement "Vascular Herbs" according to the instructions). The groups were comparable in age, gender, and baseline symptom severity.

[0493] Efficacy assessments were conducted on days 1, 14, and 30 of the study. The following were used:

[0494] 1. Questionnaire of subjective symptoms (assessment of chills, paresthesia, tinnitus, dizziness on a 5-point scale).

[0495] 2. Treadmill test for assessing tolerance to physical activity.

[0496] 3. Ultrasound Dopplerography (USDG) of the main arteries of the lower extremities and brachiocephalic arteries.

[0497] 4. Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) for assessing microcirculation in the skin of the lower extremities.

[0498] According to studies conducted in the treatment of patients with peripheral circulatory disorders, a significant positive trend in improving microcirculation was noted. By the 14th day of therapy, the number of patients complaining of cold extremities (from 100% to 25-30%) and paresthesia (from 75-80% to 20-25%) had significantly decreased. In patients receiving the "Vascular Herbs" composition, peripheral blood flow parameters completely returned to normal within the first 10-14 days. After the course of treatment, they noted the disappearance of the sensation of cold in the extremities and improved exercise tolerance. However, patients in the control group (receiving standard therapy) continued to show signs of peripheral circulatory disorders, with paresthesia and other adverse effects persisting in 40% of patients (compared to 70% of patients in the prototype).
