An electric battery unit

Abstract

The present invention relates to an electric battery unit (400, 600), the electric battery unit comprising:at least two battery modules (401 , 402, 601 , 602, 603, 604, 605, 606, 607, 608, 609), each battery module comprising a plurality of electric battery cells having a rectangular cuboid shape, wherein the battery modules of the electric battery unit are configured to be interconnected;wherein upper faces of the battery cells of a battery module form an upper surface of the battery module, each of the at least two battery modules comprising external positive and negative connection terminals (403, 405, 404, 406, 413, 415, 414, 416, 613, 615, 614, 616) for connection to at least one other battery module, the external positive and negative connection terminals of a battery module being arranged in corner regions of different corners of the upper surface of the battery module; andwherein the external connection terminals are configured such that, when interconnecting an external connection terminal (403, 404, 413, 414, 613, 614) of one (401 , 411, 602) of the at least two battery modules with an external connection terminal (405, 406, 415, 416, 615, 616) of another (402, 412, 603) of the at least two battery modules, contact surfaces (403A, 406B, 403B, 406A, 404A, 405A) providing interconnection of the external connection terminals (403, 405, 404, 406, 413, 415, 414, 416, 613, 615, 614, 616) of the battery modules are arranged at right angles with respect to each other.
