Automatic wood splitter

Abstract

The automatic wood splitter consists of a central part (1) and two side parts (2), which are firmly anchored to the floor. The side parts (2) are identical and are located on the sides of the central part (1). The central part (1) has a longitudinal frame (3), on which is placed a track formed by a system of opposing cones (4) and at least four positioning toothed chains (5) for adjusting the wooden log or cutout to the correct position relative to the splitting wedge (A). The longitudinal frame (3) is terminated by a vertical frame (6), on which is located a vertically movable stop (7) for supporting the wooden log or cutout during the splitting process. The splitting wedge (A) located on a rotating plate (21) is connected to a hydraulic mechanism (8) for its extension and insertion, and these are fixed in a mobile plate (9) in the vertical direction. The mobile plate (9) is slidably mounted on a second vertical frame (10) mounted on the longitudinal frame (3).The side part (2) has three vertical frames (12, 13, 14) connected at the bottom by horizontal crossbars (11), above which there is a vertically sliding plate (15) on the first extreme vertical frame (12) for supporting the cutout during splitting. Between the first extreme vertical frame (12) and the middle vertical frame (13) there is a positioning platform (16) with toothed positioning chains (17) for positioning the cutout during splitting. On the middle vertical frame (13) there is a movably mounted pressure mandrel (18) with a hydraulic mechanism (19) for pressing the cutout against the sliding plate (15) and holding the cutout in position during splitting. On the top of the three vertical frames (12, 13, 14) is arranged a carriage (20) with a secondary splitting wedge (B) driven by an electric motor with mechanical transmission.
