Abstract

Device for displaying the current celestial vault and local panorama with the functionality of a sundial is part of an observation room bounded by a ceiling (6) with an opening (61) and a base (62). It contains a primary mirror (1) of convex shape with an optical axis oriented towards the zenith, with an opening (11) in the middle, which is placed on the base of a frame (5) on the ceiling (6) of the observation room above the opening (61). A planar secondary mirror (2) of circular shape with a reflecting surface oriented downwards is mounted on the axis of symmetry in the upper part of the frame (5) above the primary mirror (1). A coupling type refractive element (3) is located in the opening (11) of the primary mirror (1). A shade (4) with a marked system of hour and date lines is placed in the lower part of the observation room on a pedestal (62). A light beam from the solar disk – the sunbeam (71) is reflected by the system of the primary mirror (1) and the secondary mirror (2) and, passing through the refractive element (3), is projected onto the screen (4) at the location of the image (72) of the sun. A light beam (81) from a terrain object (8) near the horizon is similarly projected onto the screen (4) at the location of the image (82) of the object.
