Preparation for reducing formaldehyde emissions from wood-based composites bonded with polycondensation adhesives

Abstract

A preparation for reducing formaldehyde emissions from wood-based composites glued with polycondensation adhesives, in particular urea-formaldehyde adhesives, while maintaining the mechanical-physical parameters of the composites in applications in the woodworking industry is described, which contains from 5 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight of urea, from 0.5 parts by weight to 30 parts by weight of sodium silicate, from 0.5 parts by weight to 10 parts by weight of at least one substance from the group consisting of collagen hydrolysate, native starch and carboxymethylcellulose, and further from 5 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight of water.
